Totally agree. I am a Jeep owner for the last 3 weeks - my Harley is sitting in the garage more often these days. Must be thinking "damn you Jeep, damn you"!

How the JEEP will let you borrow the screws that hold the tie down hooks in the tub to use when you purchase a soft top used and did not include the roll bar bracket screws so you can instantly enjoy the soft top.

Nobody told me that I would wind up installing, replacing normal things like real headlights, door stops, a gas cap cover even before modding for off road- and that I would be like a lovesick boyfriend to it anyway.

that I would feel left out when passing another jeep on the road while in my wifes truck because I didn't get to wave at them.

That regardless of how perfectly it's set-up, there's always a tweak that just needs to be tried...You know...just to be sure it couldn't be perfect-er

That I'd end up driving the slowest, worst handling, most absurdly impractical vehicle I could find.... and love every minute of it.

x2 on not owning just one either.

That for the last two birthdays and Christmas Jeep mods were the only things on my list, which my mother still doesn't understand.

That I will drive several hours to get to an area where I spend hours driving to no where at a very slow speed while also taking the risk of breaking something on my beloved Jeep. Most of my friends don't understand this one.

That after 4 years of Jeep ownership I will have only put 2 miles on my now useless Harley (to fill the tank with gas for long term storage)

also I wish I found this forum earlier

^^This. Even the wife asks me fully knowing the answer to her own question "you wanted to wave....didnt you?" OF COURSE

Other things learned:

-That needing a new transmission after 43 miles and 22 hours of ownership is just a jeep thing.

-Like others, if it doesn't have a clunk, rattle, or waterfall behind the dash, something is very very wrong

-That even though half the mileage may be to and from the dealership for warranty repairs, i still have a smile on my face every mile of it.

-that AZ pin striping is a first week of ownership right of passage.

-That wives will rather listen to you talk about work, hunting, fishing, camping, zombies, other women, ANYTHING other than the Jeep after the first week.

That at this point, if the mod is 1000$ it is a pretty big deal.. A $300-400$ mod is ehhhhh. $100 - $200 mods don't even count... Who would have thunk..

That after owning my first Wrangler for less than two months, I got caught in two torrential downpours with no doors on the way home. The inside was completely soaked with standing water in all the footwells. I discovered I wasn't all that concerned as I yanked out all the carpet and popped the drain plugs to watch water literally pour out, while saying to myself, "It's a Jeep thing, now I understand".

They are a pretty compact vehicle and their turning radius is borderline ridiculous. My JK is not as long as my wife's civic sedan was or beetle is.

Yup. I pull in forwards or back in depending on which will give the better view of the front of my Jeep!

its the only vehicle you will ever own that you plan weekends around and vacations around. it literally creates things for you to do.

what to do this weekend? i dunno but it better involve the jeep with top & doors off.

beach trip this summer, sure! but wait lets find a place that is 4x4 only.

also, your priorities change, real quick.
