What paint for the stock bumpers?

The brown truck is supposed to show up this week with my VDP endcaps. When I put them on, I know they will be a darker black while the rest of my bumper will be a faded black. After installation, I'll probably caulk the ends of the endcap so it's smooth and then I plan to put a tarp over the front of the Jeep, mask off the fog lights, and then paint the entire bumper so it's uniform in color.

What kind of paint should I use to do that? I've thought of just using plastidip, but I'm not sure how well it'll hold up or stick with the bumper being textured.

I would try a back to black or some type of color restoring product first. If that doesn't work or you are set on painting, then you will need a paint that is designed for use on plastic.

Krylon Fusion comes to mind...there is some prep that is required:

When working with plastic

For old plastic, use an ammonia-based cleaner and wipe down to clean surface. If the plastic is new, wipe down with paint thinner for best results. Lightly sand glossy surface if previously painted and remove dust with a tack cloth. When dry, apply Krylon® Fusion for Plastic according to the directions on the can.

Also, if you heat your bumper with a heat gun, it will bring back the black. I seen almost grey looking bumpers brought back to black this way. Just don't heat it too hot lol

I'm doing the stubby bumper mod in a couple of weeks myself, and plan on using spray-on bed liner for the same reason.
