What Protectant for 2013 Premium Soft Top

What protectant should I use for my 2013 Premium Soft Top? I would like to use 303, but they offer two versions, one for vinyl and one for cloth. The previous soft tops I would use vinyl protectant, but it looks like the Premium Soft Top is cloth, but not sure, it may just be a vinyl product made to feel and look like cloth. Does anyone know if it actually a cloth based top? Thanks.

I use the 303 on my '12 top – actually just about everywhere on my Jeep. The stuff rocks. But I've got an ORH top that I'm pretty sure is heavy canvas. My bottles of 303 say "vinyl*rubber*plastic*leather*fiberglass" on them.

If you're worried about it, Bestop makes stuff to keep their tops clean: Bestop Soft Top Cleaner and Protectant - Quadratec

Ok, I called Bestop to see if they can advise: They said they don't have a product to protect the top yet, and did not have any product they recomended. They said the new premium top is acrylic, vs the 2012 top being a vinyl. I then called the makers of 303, and said that their 303 vinyl top protection would be the proper product to use for an acrylic top, like the sunbrella's, etc. So unless somebody hears different a vinyl top protectant is the correct product.

I'm well aware how old the thread is and know how forums work. No other threads since this one deal with the new premium top so I'm pretty sure it's a valid bump after searching.

Is the 303 you quote the regular protectant or the fabric version?

Any cleaner protectant made for cleaning auto soft tops should be fine really, given that the new premium tops (or Bestop Twill) is made from pretty much the same material used on convertible tops.

Mothers convertible top cleaner etc.

I think I found the answer

This is an important topic so I searched what the premium top is made of. It is from Haartz, a reknowned maker of top fabrics for everything ranging from VW Beetles to Ferraris. According to several online news reports from 2012, the fabric they use on the Jeep Premium top is called Twillfast RPC. This is a high end 3 ply acrylic/rubber fabric. In the 303 website they specify that for acrylic fabrics you must use their High Tech Fabric Guard, NOT the regular protectant. I also called them to confirm. They immediately recognized the Twillfast RPC fabric and confirmed to use the HTFG and their fabric/vinyl cleaner first. These 2 products can be purchased in a kit as well. They said I will need about 16oz for the Jeep.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the research. It was driving me crazy to see people just say "I use 303".

In summation, use this:

303® High Tech Fabric Guard

And not this:

303® Aerospace Protectant 32oz

Is that right?

Looking at the Ragg Topp site, there are different protectants for "fabric" and "vinyl" tops.

Wolfsteins Pro Series - RAGGTOPP Products

According to their website, "RAGGTOPP Convertible Care products are exclusively tested and endorsed by The Haartz Corporation, original equipment manufacturer of convertible topping for virtually every American and European convertible automobile manufactured throughout the world."

Wolfsteins Pro Series: Manufacturer of RAGGTOPP and BIMINI TOPP Products

On the other hand, I thought Bestop made the soft tops, and they have their own cleaner/protectant/zipper lube kit.

http://www.bestop.com/component/prod...w=product&id=3

At this point, I'm kinda torn.
