My next mod is 2.5 teraflex lift with 18 fuel mavericks on 35 toyo at2 or bfg ko2.
I just don't know that width the rim should be and what off set to have. I would like to know everyone went with width and offset and why. Post pics of you have any.
Offset will vary with rim width, so -12 on a 9" wide wheel is not the same fitment as -12 on a 8" wheel. I prefer to speak in terms of backspace, which should be the same no matter your wheel width.
For a 35" your goal should be around 4.5" backspace. The tire you decide on should give you a recommended wheel width, but generally 9" is a good choice for a 12.5" wide tire.
The wife's Jeep we did a 2.5" Teraflex lift with a 315/70/17 Goodyear Duratrac on the factory wheel using a 1.75" spacer. Factory BS is 6.25" so the spacer put us at 4.5" BS.
I'm looking into the TF 2.5 lift and considering wheel options as well. TF says on their website to run a wheel with 4.5 backspace for up to a 35" tire. I'm probably going with 285/75-17, closer to 34" and 11.25 wide. Would I still be required to run 4.5 backspace? I have a good deal on a rim by Method but their 17" rims are 4.76" backspace.
18 x 9, 0 offset which I believe is 5" backspacing. I run 285/75-18 Toyo's which measure 34.25 mounted. Bigger than most 35s. No issues rubbing with a Mopar 2" lift. Haven't been off the pavement yet, it's been a long winter
Mammoth Boulder wheels 17x9 w/ 4.7" BS, mounted on Nitto Trail Grapplers 28/75/17. Teraflex 2.5 with Rancho 9000XL shocks.
