What the heck?! 2010 JK auto issue..

Hey guys,

So today I went to get in the Jeep to drive it around town like I normally would.. I had drove it yesterday for about 100 miles with no issues. I get in today, turn it on, everything was fine. It starts right up with no issues as usual. I put it in reverse and it sort of just pops/jumps. I'm thinking, what the heck was that?! I've never felt that before.. so I think nothing of it, and back out the driveway, put it in drive, and it does the same thing. "Umm, ok?" so I just drive off, and as I get on the road, the tranny wouldn't shift!! It seemed like it was stuck in 2nd or 3rd gear and wouldn't shift higher. I was going like 30 MPH and it was at almost 3k RPM's.

What in the world is going on here? I eased her back home, parked in the driveway, turned it off, started it back up and it ran perfectly fine the rest of the day.

I don't get it? What in the world happened? I was going to take it in next weekend to have the dealer check out the clicking through the steering column, but I guess I'll have to have them check this out now as well. I just get the feeling that they won't be able to do it again.

Any thoughts? Its under warranty, so I'm not terribly concerned, but I just find it strange.

Sounds like limp mode. If the computer sees an error it will put it in limp mode to keep from further damage if there is any. Might try and disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and try again. If it happens again then a tranny issue trip to dealer

Interesting. I've never heard of anything like that. Kinda strange. It hasn't done it again, so I guess its fine. If it happens again, I'll definitely be calling the dealer.

Limp mode, happened to my Liberty

It should be covered under warranty since yours is so new.

In the case of my Liberty the solenoid pack in the tranny went out and had to be replaced

I find I have less problems seems like its because I beat the hell outta my rig. I know people with other JKU that are maticulous with care and such, but there always having problems : D
