What to do with 1500-2000 Dollars?

Say you have this amount to spend on your brand new 2014 Anvil 2-door with 3.73 gearing. How would u spend it? I'm thinking new wheels and tires to get rid of the steelies. Loving how the LRG 101 and 105's look.

Save it. Untill you have enough for a 3 inch good quality lift and new tires. And rims . So you need like 5000 more

Lol problem of all jeep owners need more cash flow. And if I went 2.5 spring lift instead I'd be around 3 anyways might go that route and could do with that budget tires and wheels be held off a bit tho

Remember the money you get from selling your old tires/wheels may mean you actually have about $2500.

Well ill be home from deployment soon first thing I wanna do is move up to 33's and new wheels from what I've read I can do that without any other mods. Selling the stock tires and rims will.hopefully add to the cause.

What are you doing with this jeep? No off road....then ya get new whels and tires and a BB.

If you plan to wheel it save up for a lift and wheels/tires.

I initially got a 2.5" BB and 33's. But after about a montha and couple trips wheeling I deided a 4.5" lift and 35's would be better. Along with that there are the things you may not plan for if its your first jeep(like me).

1. Change out fo drive shafts depending on your lift.

2. Steel brake lines

3. Drag Link flip kit (depending on your lift).

So my suggestion is decide what you plan to do with this jeep, research prices, see how much cash you need.

Tn has too good of trails not to off-road so definitely mild off road

Get a good lift. I run Rubicon express and love it. But I did get all 8 control arms a few months after which made a huge differrence in ride and articualtion.

A guy a wheel with has the 3" Teraflex with stock arms and loves it. I would say if you dont go over 3" your probably good without chaging arms for ride quality and steering issues.


See how close you are with $2000. The 3" teraflex is around a grand.

with a 2.5 lift you can go to 35's according to the info I have seen... 2.5 lifts are rather simple and don't involve driveshaft/steering issues... Teraflex has great videos on youtube showing installs and a good on the 2.5 coil lift... thanks for your service to your country..

Let's say $1750....and another $250 for your old wheels...so $2000 total.

Mild off-roading? I would start with the following.

Rubi take-offs....lots of them.
Looks for wheels, shocks, springs, and rock rails on Craigslist of the forum classifieds.
Ace sliders
Hood lock
Wheel locks
New headlights
Procal

This is exactly what I did with recently and am very happy with the outcome for the $. With ~2k and the rebates I was able to purchase the above + bilstein 5100's (not necessary but wanted to swap while I was at it) and a procal. Sorry for the bad phone picture but gives you an idea.

Do like I did and plan for the future. I got the right back-spaced wheels in 17" so that I could run 33" now (without a lift) then have the option to go to 35" if warranted. I got the wheels that I loved in 4.5" BS so the have the exact wide stance I was after. 33" GY DT's is exactly the tire I wanted. Could not be more pleased...

I did grab a set of JKUR springs and shocks to gain 1.75"/1.25" for front/rear on the cheap just to have a bit more height. I don't need anything more than that right now, but I can do a full shock lift later. For the cheap money I spent, I got the height I was after and no other mods required (brake line extension brackets, etc).

I basically spent around $1,500 all said and done for 5 wheels after selling my Sahara wheelset and getting the Pro-Cal to kill the TPMS light.

Sorry my above picture is 2.5 spacer lift, 35's, and new wheels. Right at 2k for it all. It is a Rough Country lift which aren't the greatest but a spacer is a spacer. And I got my tires on a great deal from the exchange

You can have steering issues and drive shaft issues with a 2.5. It is not as likely as a 3" or higher lift but it does happen.

I like this as well.
New take-off Rubi wheels can be had for $1000 or so. But if a little bit more money is spent up front for 17's with 33's, that leaves more room for improvements down the road. Rubi 4 door springs and shocks can be had for cheap, and will give an instant lift.

Think that is what im gonna do looking around Nashville area now for some take offs and prob gonna order my wheels and tires in the next few days so there waiting on me when i go pick up the jeep.

Would picking up the suspension from a 2009 Jeep JKR be worth it for my 2013 Jeep JKU? The suspension includes the springs, shocks and mounting brackets. The Seller says the parts only have 35,000 mile on them.

Ask for the #'s on the springs. A JKU Sahara with max tow could have just as high/higher rate depending on the set-up. If you are moving from a 14 to a 17-19 it would give you a boost. Just make sure it wouldn't be a lateral move spring wise only with higher miles.
