What to do with stock rims...?

Hey gang,
Just acquired a 2008 JKU three weeks back. I'm changing out worn-out M/T's and stock rims for fresh skins and MB rims. Two of the old stock rims are pretty badly beaten. Two are serviceable. The fifth has the unused spare and will hide under a spare cover.
What do you guys do with the old stock rims? Craigslist? Looks like the good ones are worth $98 a piece on Ebay. The other two are scrap.

You could probably sell them. The older GC's have the same lug pattern.

Good. I'll try Craigslist first.
Thanks Daggo66

I sold 3/4 of my old Canyons off my Tj
2 were ok and 1 was pretty bad but structurally fine. The guy had plans to find one more and bedline them.

i sold my stock rims (18") on craigslist but i gotta tell you i only had one serious inquiry after having them posted for 2 weeks. i let all 5 go, including the tires with great tread, for $100. i was disappointed but the market is not there where i live. i needed the garage space so they had to go.

i hope you have better luck than i did!

Thanks for the heads-up, Tracie.
Colorado is Jeep country, so I don't think I'll have a problem.

There are people who will buy them. I bought my Jeep with the crappy 16" wheels and found a set of the 17" Moabs with tires on craigslist for a good price and bought them. It all may take a while but I have sold many car parts on craigslist. Now I just need someone to buy my stock 16" wheels lol. Good luck.

I'm in the market for stock JK wheels and tires to put on my TJ for the winter (I know I need adapters), and thought I could find them cheap, but the dozen or so on Craigslist are all $600+ for the set...for that money I'll just buy a new set of 31"'s to put on my stock rims....would love to find a set locally for $300 or less...

Wish I could help you PJ. With shipping costs from Colorado to Plymouth Ma., you'd be better off shopping locally for a complete set.

Thanks, MR.E.
I really don't want to store these. I'm running out of storage space as it is. Any cash generated will go toward my window roll and maybe some 3/4" spacers up front.

My dealer did a 2" lift and 32 in tires on 16 in rims on my 2007 Sahara. Never did get the 17" rims from them. Don't need them now that i have the 17 on the new Rubi. I had thought about putting less aggressive and smaller tires on the Sahara to get better mileage. Now, don't have to worry bout it.

I see these on craigslist all the time. Looks like upgrading the JKs is very popular. They're usually in the range of 100-300, but that's in SoCal. Good luck

I should call some of the people locally who sell stock JK's for $600 and offer them $300...I seriously doubt there's anyone really looking for stock JK tires and rims besides me! I just don't want to beat up my stock rims during the salt season, and I hear the JK stock tires are better on ice and wet roads, and have a less aggressive tread than the A/T's I'm running.

But i just got my lift in the mail the other day, and now deciding on if i want rims or keep my stock ones with the 35'sim buying. If i do decide to sell them, i will let you know. But dont stop looking or offering ppl for theirs, i might take another month or 2 before i decide.
