I've only had my jeep for a few months now and i had some of the coolest reaction by other people. For example, I was at a traffic light one time and a old guy in a TJ drove by and he turned his head to me and was like "HOLY S#@$, WOW!!" Another time I was at 4-way intersection stop sign and coming towards me was a two officers in a patrol car, they turned their light on and they pulled right up to me and stopped(I have really dark tints 20 in the front and 5% in the back I; I thought to myself crap i'm going get a ticket for my tints) He did the rolled down your window motion with his hand. I rolled down my window and they didn't even say a word and just gave me a thumbs up and drove away lol. There were some more but those were pretty cool ones.. How about you guys?
Went to pick up a table router at Woodcraft, and an older gentleman helped me cart out all the stuff I bought. When he spied my Flame Red JKU he literally took a deep breath and said "man..that is some rig!". Then when we were done packing the router, he said "let me just stand here and look at this Jeep".
Cool to see the kid come out in this older guy as he just stood there and smiled ear to ear.
while i was stopped at a red light, a guy heading the opposite direction, stopped in the middle of traffic to tell me how much he liked it and then kept asking questions. he had an entire line of cars held up behind him by the time he pulled away.
had a girl tell me my truck made her... eh. aroused? to keep it PG
my favorite was when my aunt told me it was "cute." i glared at her. so she says "uuuh i mean bad ass." i laughed and told her shes allowed to think its cute. haha..
I think the best reactions come from the little kids...usually boys.
One day, pulling out of my driveway I started driving down the street and a little boy...probably 5 or 6...rides his bike up next to me on the sidewalk and yells "I like your jeep!!"
Another time I was sitting at a stoplight and a big red lifted diesel pulls up next to me...and the little boy in the back seat...probably around that same age...rolls down his window and says "Cool Jeep!" He left his window down and I could hear him say "Mom, he doesn't have any doors!"
Took my Jeep to the highschool football team car wash fundraiser- right after taking it on the trail. I pulled in, all the guys started pointing- and arguing over who got to wash it. Several asked if they could help me get it dirty again after they washed it. One said he officially had a new dream car. (I forgave him for the "car" term.). I received an offer for weekly washes ("only in the Jeep"). Got a couple of marriage proposals and some other proposals I can't repeat.
The funniest part was when they asked me if I needed a full body wash. I should have seen it coming. Unsure of what I paid for I said "ok". About 15 teenagers ran to my Jeep- stood on my rails and bumper and proceeded to wash the Jeep without sponges. Um, shirtless. The staff had to stop the entire team from coming over- he apologized and said they hadn't been that excited all day. Wasn't sure if I took a pic. if I could go to jail- but it would have been priceless.
I couldn't stop laughing the whole way home.
Nice story..Lol reminds me of the other day when I had to take the jeep in to get a few picture taken for the insurance company(had a little accident with a Prius- Jeep vs. Prius thread) and the guys were arguing over who will take the pictures. The guy who took the picture told me it he doesn't usually get excited over cars and what not haha.
I was riding with my wife in her jeep and we went through a parking lot where lots of teenage boys hang out. They all puffed out their chests and put their "cool face" on, and one of them proceeded to walk right into the side of his truck because he was watching us instead of where he was going.
The other day I was getting gas when a guy pulled up and started talking to me. His kids were going crazy and he finally asked if they could get out and look at it. They were about 3-4 yrs old and I let them both crawl all over the interior and sit in the drivers seat. They loved it!
I hear "nice jeep" just about anywhere I go.
On a cider mill cruise with another club, 17 jeeps all together. Then 15, then 13... but long story short we are cruising through an intersection when this chick is starring at everyone rolling by with her jaw dropped wide open. She then doesn't realize her foot let up off the brake and she drives under the back of the dodge ram in front of her car lol.
I've had a few oglers. Driving up to a buddy's place a week after I bought her a car pulls up along side me on the highway, and 2 ~20 year olds in the back seat stared at me/the Jeep for about a mile down the highway. I waved and got a grin out of em.
The other was driving to work. I dropped the top and took the doors off. This kid maybe 8 years old almost broke his neck turning to get a second look as his Dad passed me. I heard him yell "DAD! Look! His doors are gone!". I love getting a reaction out of people just by driving around.
I had a high school kid at a stop sign yell at me, he said: yo man (I couldn't make out what he said next but the sentence finished with) "your Jeep". Then he gave me a sort of sideways cool wave and nod.
I've been approached by people in grocery store parking lots quite a few time since I bought the Jeep in July. Mainly it's old guys who seem to just want to be near it and like to say things like "if I were only younger I'd have one".
My neighbor bought a new Nissan SUV right after I got the Jeep and asked me for a Jeep ride a few days later.
I've only had the Jeep 3 months but I've been very surprised at the attention it draws.
In general, I've noticed girls aged 15-25 or so seem to really enjoy smiling in the direction of the Jeep these days I have zero complaints! lol
