Hi All, new member here.

Just got my 2015 JKU "X" Edition. After looking at all the awesome accessories and add on's making a list and prioritizing it getting crazy!

So I figured I'd ask on here...seemed like a good Friday afternoon topic.

What was your first modification to your first wrangler?

Yep....

That was my first purchase for my Jeep; a hoist for the hard-top. (As soon as I got it home, I realized with the "dual top" option I ordered, I had to get the soft top removed and hard top put back on again so as not to damage the soft top and void its warranty. I didn't really have anyone convenient to help me with the process, so I purchased an electric hoist and traded a local handyman a plasma TV for installing it for me.)

That was a win-win for all of us, since we got a new LCD TV that uses a lot less electricity. I got the electric hoist working (and it currently keeps the soft top bundled up and hoisted up near the garage ceiling, out of the way), and his family loves the plasma TV set in their living room.

First mod I actually did to the Jeep though? Tweeter mod "Pressurized" explains on this forum. Only costs a few bucks and made the factory "premium" stereo sound much more premium than it did.

re: tweeter mod

No... I did it to the Alpine system on a 2014. I still haven't listened to a 2015 personally, but I'm regularly told it sounds much better than the 2014 version did. All I know is, I was really unimpressed with the factory system's sound quality after I got the Jeep home and had a little time to listen to it beyond just the initial test drive.

The tweeter mod for a 2014 actually makes it sound like the tweeters are installed. (Without it, I swear they almost do nothing.) Some people have conjectured that Chrysler screwed up on the 2014's, specifying the wrong value for the capacitor soldered on to the tweeters.....

My first buy for my 14 JKUR-X was an extended warranty...lol so far saved me the cost of a tranny and all of the hard top seal leaks...lol

second was the junk to add the back up camera. I originally had a 5k build budget at the beginning and I was planning on a 2.5 Terraflex lift and 35" tires but house problems ate in to my budget.

My very first upgrade was to steal some parts and tools off the TJ I traded in and put them on the JK.

Done this order (bought it May 2014). No real big changes, wanted to keep it clean for a year before going offroad with it
- floor mats
- CB radio (with antenna, mount, etc...)
- winter tires

To come this spring (started to shop to find best prices)
- Getting rid of SRA tires and put on bigger/larger Duratracs
- Quick disconnects for sway bar
- Wheel spacers (so larger tires won't rub)
- Rock rails
- Scangauge

In order:
Lange hoist for hard top
Quadratec Grill inserts
Mopar sill guards
Mopar cargo liner that covers the sub (I heard it doesn't affect sound quality). So far so good.
Antenna X off-road antenna
Brandmotion Homelink garage door opener. I love this!!
Back-up camera (not yet installed). Getting to the radio is the part I have to get my head around.
Truck lites (heated) came today. Still a bit concerned about this "X" pattern I keep reading about but I think you can adjust it out. Don't really want to have to adjust but then again something to learn which is not a bad thing.

Wish list:
Skid plates for oil pan and transmission. Maybe differentials too. Mostly this is for the stupid factor while I'm learning.
Maximum stuff (winch plate, hook anchor, hoop)
Warn Zeon 10S winch (some great write-ups on install on this forum)

Sounds like I'm on my way to the perfect mall crawler - lol. But of course last but not least is to go find some outings with friends/groups that are willing to take on this newby girl while she learns some more. I am fortunate enough to have a Jeep I can grow into and not out of! 2015 JKUHR.

Then the wish list grows.

The first was a Supertop NX. Followed shortly by an Antenna-X 13" to get rid of the metal noisemaker. Right now I've got a set of 17s with half-used KMs sitting in the garage while I wear out the last few /32s of my factory SRAs. Also a Barricade HD bumper and a Superwinch SR9500 waiting to be installed.

Just got a 98 tj sport with auto trans. To show how much i know about jeeps or the lifestyle, the first thing i upgraded was the stereo!! haha, yeah i know that's lame but i'm new to it all so now i've got it lined up for a 3 inch zone lift with some 33's and new wheels. Took out the back seat so my dog can enjoy it back there when the nicer weather hits.

Well after hail wrecked my transmission cooler. I got everything fixed then installed grill inserts which I had planned to do right away but obviously waited to long. Few dents in the hood but I was pretty impressed on how the jeeps exterior held up honestly.

Our Jeep took 9 weeks to get here. In that time we bought:
Mopar Stage 3 lift
Wheels
Tires
Front & rear bumpers
Rock rails
Tire Carrier
Antenna X
Floor mats
Big rotor kit
Spiderweb shade
and a few other odds & ends

Since then we've added some lighting, winch and thats about it.
Lots more planned, just have to find where I left my money tree.

GraBars FTW! :)

I ordered them before my jeep even got here. I can't imagine my jeep without them!
