What was your first customization to your JK?

Just purchased my 2012 2 door Wrangler and I know I want to start customizing it soon. I just don't know where I will start. What was your first customization/modification to your JK?

The morning after we bought it we did everything. I think the wheels and tires were actually the first thing, but in that mod party we did:

Wheels and tires
Bumpers
Steps
Grille insert
Lights
Door sill guards
Floor mats
Fuel door

First day I removed the rear seat and installed a new radio. Shortly after I did a tail light euro cover, Evap/oil pan skid and a Transmission cooler. Soon after I did a new front bumper w/winch and new tires with a coil spring swap. Also grill mesh and slush mats. And the mods never stopped after that.

Tuesday I am having a rear seat mod. My local offroad shop is customizing a rear seat snap in frame with a single rear seat mounted to it to give me one extra passenger seat and room to put in my golf clubs or any other thing I need to haul in a 2dr like groceries.

I was thinking starting with wheels but now that I think about it the grille might be an easy place to start

Mine's gonna be like oilwell's.

Currently in my garage, awaiting Jeep arrival:
bumpers
lift kit
wheels / tires
side rails
fender flares
body armor
2 sets of aux lights
replacement headlights
carpet liners
grab handles
billet grille

Probably leaving some stuff out.

Do what you can when you can afford it, and have fun!

First mod was the Rough Country stubby bumper mod, next mod coming soon, 3.5" RK X-Factor mid arm lift and either 35x12.5 or 37x12.5 tires (I still go back and forth on what tire size) next mod after all this will probably be re-gear.

I did the headlight upgrade too. Didn't go all out mind you but installed Phillips 80 Xtremes. Big improvement. They are the best bulb only upgrade out there. Hard to find, got mine on E-bay.

My first mod was a SuperChips tuner to improve low end torque. Next was an upgrade to heavier duty Mopar 18/58 springs to offer some lift for my upcoming mod, an aftermarket front bumper and winch.

I think I'm going to go with the Rugged Ridge Modular XHD Front Bumper and the Superwinch Talon 9.5i SR winch, but I'm going to need to save up for a while for these items.

Although, I have to say the Teraflex 2.5" coil lift and new wheels and tires are calling my name too...

So many mod choices... So little time and funds...

I changed the radio presets........

Seriously, so far only an "Adventures Start Here" spare tire cover and full Weather Tech floor mats and cargo cover.

Rids the throttle delay/lag/whatever you call it.

Some (like me) swear by it-- some don't.

Also flipped the mirror

First there was the electric brake for towing, then radios installed, slush mats, then had to replace them when they wore out three years and 50,000 miles later, this past June bumper top winch plate by Rough Country, then 15,000 lb badlands winch, then at the same time as the winch purchased an uber on board air system with pump and tank and all mounting hardware.....but....haven't got that installed yet.....my son's YJ that I got in December of 2010 trumped that install and looks like the on board air will have to wait until spring. Can't wait to air down for beach riding next year. The jeep has definitely been a money pit. But one that puts a smile on my face like no other vehicle that I have owned. I've been having so much fun, I'm now wrenching on two of them. I can see this as a retirement pass time as more jeeps follow me home....like abandoned puppy dogs with droopy eyes just begging me to take them home.

Mine are kinda boring. Mopar side steps to help out my short friends, Mopar fuel filler door, locking gas cap, hood lock (someone stole the hood off my YJ years ago so I'm paranoid about it), Sylvania Silverstar headlight bulbs, and a Eugene the Jeep sticker for my back window.

I've only had it since Wednesday, though, so I'm sure more things are coming...

Since I got the Rubi, I was pretty happy with all the stock off-road goodies and they performed well in the florida mud...

Not sure if this is a "mod" but I got a Warn M8000 winch with a cradle so I can mount it on the rear of the Jeep...I'm planning on getting a front hidden hitch reciever, but for now, there is rarely a time I want to continue going forward into what I'm stuck in...In north florida swamps, going forward generally means going underwater...I realize this is difference for some of you rock crawler/trail folks...
