Question What would you do?

I need help guys, I currently have a 2008 JK 40,000 miles, automatic, Sahara, rescue green, hardtop, the only mod I've made is adding fog lights. beyond that it's basically stock and I'm bored. i'm looking at it 2011 Sport also JK, it's cherry red, standard trans, soft top, 20k miles, lifted and completely tricked out, pretty much everything you could put on a jeep with also CAI, and one of those Jet modules. It's super cool, but from a Sahara to a sport there's a lot to get used to manual windows no power door locks etc. With the winter coming I'm itching for the 33's and 3.5 inch lift.. WHAT WOULD YOU DO? thanks

Keep what you got, if you like it, and start buying mods! If you are wanting to upgrade then buy a 2012 and up JK with the better engine. Just my 2 cents on a saturday afternoon.

what I would do is:

33's
6 inch lift
Full bumper with some meat
Warn Zeon winch
Lockers
High lift jack on rear
LED highlights

This^!!! I had the same '08 JKU Sahara in Rescue Green. Only did a lift and tires. Loved it to death! Rescue Green is an awesome color and while Cherry is nice, but its no Rescue! I only traded mine because that new engine is awesome! Keep it, mod it, but only trade it for the '12 engine.

My bare bones Sport has hand crank windows and finger poppin' locks. It's not hard for me to reach over to the passenger door and work either one, even while the vehicle is still rolling. But with all that said I would agree on getting a 3.6L if you're in the position of waiting just a little longer and get a color you really want too.

I would mod your Sahara, merely because its a known entity. Nothing worse than buying someone elses problems, particularly with a lifted 4x4.

PS: I'd actually pay extra to get manual windows and locks.

"bored" can strike anywhere anytime under any financial condition

I found I can stay NOT 'bored' far more effectively by DOING stuff NOT by "having stuff".... you've already got what is somebody's Dream Jeep.

Lighten up I was just messing with him because he knows what he wants. He wants to really keep what he has but likes the idea off getting something already tricked out. I listed just a bunch of stuff in fun.

Start researching and learning about modding your own jeep as you wish as opposed to already buying someone else's modded jeep. Paint a picture in your head, plan it and do it. That's fun and not boring. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the conversation... I DO love my jeep and she loves me.. She's real good to me. I guess that other "woman" with the big headlights will get my attention every time. lol I'll follow most everything you guys said. I'll make mine into what I'd like it to be, and even consider an engine mod or even a hemi if I want more power. The grass isn't always greener.. I didn't know 2012's had better engines, I thought the new engines started in the 2013's. thanks

Swingwood, what I would really do if I was you. I would keep the 08 with 40K that you know everything about and have maintained. The 11 sport is probably well maintained but you don't know that. It may have been some dealer mod'ed sport that the owner never changed the oil. Not likely but who knows. Plus the sport does not have the electrical items you want.

I Expect you are going to need to take money out of your pocket to make the trade happen. Why not take that money and have fun shopping for the exact brand of mod you want. The new mod's you will have fun installing and can pay for any mod install you need help with. Bored will go away and a look at my Sahara smile will be on your face.

Duh, after I posted this I then read your other post that you have made up your mind.
