I like the Builder's Edition idea - call it a Jeep Wrangler Basic perhaps in ordering one. You have to go into a dealer or online to get one, and they are sold only to individuals, no dealer orders. It starts with picking a 2 or 4 door, then gives you engine option of gas or diesel (dreaming here), then option of transmission type, axles, gearing, wheels, tires, seats, carpet or bedliner, stereo, bumpers, winch, headlights, top (soft top or hard top), door type (half or full or both), hood type. I'm sure I could add a lot more to this list too, but basiclly we would get to pick whatever options we want to with very few overlap issues. A complete Jeep Basic order with just the bare minimum would be $15-18k based on engine and transmission only.

I know I would go in thinking I'll just order the bare minimum, and then I would build away knowing it's easier to finance a lot of options then to do them later.

They should drop the Wrangler name & call it the Jeep Anaconda just because it sounds cool

Since I was very proudly born and raised in West Texas, I would like to see a Lone Star or Texas Edition Wrangler. It's extremely popular with pickups there. After all, by definition, a Wrangler is "A cowboy or cowgirl, especially one who tends saddle horses and livestock on a ranch."

Jeep started as a military General Purpose vehicle, called a G.P. then they started calling it a Jeep sooooo if they brought back the G.P. like a survival/camping/1st aid type vehicle, if it came with the safety features, or emergency general purpose what you need when you need it! The possibilities are endless!

I wish they'd sell my Jeep as the "all business model"

Basically a 2dr - 6spd Rubicon with no other options. Soft top only, manual windows, manual locks, no fluff!

My vote is for the "builder" and the "national park". I really like the idea of Jeep donating to the parks.

The builder edition would be very cool. I don't care if I had to wait a few months for it. It was next to impossible to find a stripped down 2dr Rubicon here in Colorado.

I'm a sucker for special editions. My last two vehicles were special editions (my Jeep is an Arctic). Of all the ideas posted here, I think this is my favorite. Mainly because I like the idea of an all blacked out Jeep.

I think you meant Ibex. Have you ever seen this series of pics of them climbing a dam to eat the moss? Amazing. And a good call for a Jeep name!

ed98208,

Nice catch. IBEX it is! That's what happens when you have a tiny little keyboard, the x next to the c, fat fingers and no proofread.

And yes, the IBEX on the dam is nothing less than the classic photo of "The World's Greatest Climber", a truly great fitting name for a new Jeep model.

How about the Mistress edition? Afterall, they do take time and money away from a significant other who you would have otherwise spent that time and money with/on.

It would only be available in red or black and soft top only so that it would be easier to "undress".

The Renegade is awesome, but would it do disservice to the classic to bring it back now?

Ibex is good too.

I think it's great to periodically honor an icon, and to continue traditions. The 2014 Corvette for example will once and again be called a Stingray.
