What's the consensus on Dune?

I have to replace my commando green Sahara in the next few weeks. I did find a dune freedom edition one state away not too far to drive. I like the color matched fenders. And it has most of what I want. I like jeeps with a standout color but not too flashy. That's why I'm leaning towards the Dune as replacement. Just want to see what everybody thought of this color.

I thought it would be good but when I saw one in person my first thought was "butterscotch" It would look great in satin or flat, very military, but with clear coat it didn't work for me.

Quoted for truth. My thoughts exactly. On paper it was on my short list because Sahara Tan is one of the all-time greats. But once I saw one in a parking lot, it was a little too yellow and I wisely chose Anvil, which has actually been scientifically proven to be the best color.

I think that's awesome. If you really like Dune and have found exactly what you like you should get it. I wouldn't be too concerned with what others on the forum think because they aren't making the payments...and all Jeeps are amazing, be it white, dune, granite, hydro, etc. :)

Dune was a great color if you wanted a military look. Dune was one of the colors I originally cosidered when we purchased my wifes 2013 Rock Lobster Red JKU Sahara. I was actually locked on to a dune Moab when my wife spotted the RL JKU Sahara. The rest is history.................

I think dune is a great color and really spells jeep. On the favorite colors thread, dune seemed to get hated on a bit -but that makes it all the rarer the color and helps it stand out more right?

I love the color and drove 250 miles to find one. I like the black accent and the black top on the Dune JKU, and once I saw one in person, I knew I was done looking. Didn't even have to test drive it (but I have owned 4 Wranglers, so I knew what I wanted).

That said, everyone's Jeep is a personal thing. Go with your gut. If it's what you love, you'll never be wrong!

IMHO Wranglers look good in almost any colour.

In converse to your fondness for the standout colours I prefer the more muted or discrete colours on my Jeep; not because I do not like the way the flashy, standout colours look but basically because I feel that for me the novelty would wear off rather quickly. Black, White, Dark Forest Green, and Granite Crystal would be more to my current tastes although when I was getting my old Silver 2010 the Detonator Yellow was captivatingly calling out to me.

Today I have a Black 2013 and still savour its strikingly intense lack of colour (or blend of all possible colours for the pedantic among us.)
