Whats Your Tire/Wheel/Suspension Like?

I have been asking questions about suspension due to my (stupidity) lack of research prior to mounting 33 x 13.5 (I thought it was 13") Mickey Thompson M/T Baja MTZ - rated E4 and having issues with finding solid suspension for the money and to hold on to my tires.

So I'm tired of hearing my complaints and want to hear yours. What are you riding? Get your mind out of the gutter haha. What suspension do you have, right down to the springs? What type of ride did you want to achieve with your suspension lift? How's the highway, high speed stability? What type of tires do you have? Etc. feel free to add pictures. I love seeing your Jeeps and builds.

The combo, 33X12.50 GYD's on 15" Level 8 Trackers. Installing RK 1.5" front and rear springs (arriving tomorrow), Rancho 9000XL's (29/30), JKS Adjustable rear sway bar links/moving rear links up front, and Rancho Control Arm Brackets. It is a 2 door 2010 JK daily driver with no off roading so I am looking for stock ride or better with a little lift. Will post pictures and thoughts once everything is on.

Seems like you have yourself one solid plan! I've been told Rancho is "OK" but it's definitely relative to what you want to get out of your rig. Definitely let me know how those RK springs work out too. I've been eyeing those for too long. Looking forward to seeing photos!

Thanks for sharing!

There are Rancho shocks and then there are Rancho 9000's. The 5000 and 7000 get mixed reviews. The 9000's are almost universally loved. I really like mine so far.

I have a Mopar Stage 3, 3" lift. It came with coils, 6 control arms and Fox reservoir shocks. I also added a new front track bar. My tires are Federal Couragia MT 35x12.5x18 on Ballistic Jester rims. It doesn't drive like my wife's Envoy, but I can do 75 down the highway (if I don't mind seeing 14mpg) with no problem. The more the tires wear, the louder they get.

I started with stock 14/56 springs, stock shocks, and stock 32" tires. I found a set of 18/59 springs and red shocks from a 4 door JKUR with about 5000 miles on them for sale. Guy was awesome and threw in 4 Daystar .75" spacers. :) I had all of this installed and also replaced front sway bar links. Total lift gained was 2.25" and it rides really good. I was on a budget, so I did things a little cheaper until I get an actual lift kit. I still have the stock 32" tires, but with my setup, I could run 35's with the proper wheel back spacing (new wheels) or with 1.5" wheel spacers (I currently have these installed just for looks). For now, I am very happy with my setup until my stock tires wear out. :)

I have the exact same suspension setup, but have AEV Pintlers with 315/70/17, it works great.

I went with The combo. 33/12.50/15 durratracs and terra flex 2.5 spring lift with Rancho 9000s. Love the ride and it flexes great on the trail.I is a great setup. Can run 80 plus smooth as butter. 30k on it now and still going great and tires look to have at least another 10k left.

100% stock here:

A stock wrangler is more capable than a lot of drivers. I don't car about how it looks, it gets me and the wife where we want to go without any drama.

That being said the stock sport tires are basically passenger car tires, and the side walls aren't all that strong. I'll be putting 265/75-R16 Duratracs on soon.. have no reason for a lift.

OME HD springs front and rear, front Daystar .75" spacers, Bilstein 5100 shocks. Rock Krawler rear track bar bracket. Rancho geometry correction brackets. Rough Country front track bar/steering stabilizer relocate bracket. Teraflex bumpstops all around. Handles beautifully, rides straight and true, even at highway speeds, NO bump steer, shimmies, wobbles etc. Tires are BFG AT/KO 315/70/17's.

RK 2.5" springs, bilstein shocks, poly performance tie rod and drag link, jks adjustable Trac bars front and rear, full set of metal cloak arms running toyo mt's 37"(5.13 gears). Daily driven and my you for the weekends, only thing I'd say is it's a little stiff on the road but it don't bother me, I can keep 70mph easily on the highway. Love it offroad so it's all good to me.

Just watch the tires you go with. I installed 10A suspension, the ride is great, but very little lift. I had 295/65 18, E rated duratracs. With those, the ride was terrible. Had to have the pressure down to 28psi to keep the jeep on the road. I sold them, and am shopping for a new set of 33s. This time, definitely not e rated, and the rim will be smaller for more sidewall flex.

My rims, I def want to keep. I have 9" Wide and 18" total rim size. But I feel your pain on the E rated tire. I'm taking them off tomorrow and putting on my stock tires until I get the suspension/lift installed. I wanted to try the tires w the suspension, but my guy tells me it won't work out bc I use the Jeep mostly as a DD.

Tell me how that works out for you. Sounds like we might have (close) to the same issue.

How many different threads are you going to make comments like this on? I know this is at least three that I've seen. What's your issue with 4 door Jeeps? Everyone's happy that you're happy with your 2 dr. Why be an :censored:hole?

I got 18/59's (soon to be adding 3/4" spacers all around thanks to doc!) teraflex rear track bar bracket, rancho 7000 mt's, jks quick discos, and rear brake line extensions tabs. Enough to squeak my 35's by. Rides pretty good for what it is! Think the next investment will be an adjustable front track bar.

the black one is the one my wife likes, the other one is a gruff 550 h/p one ton monster. It's the ultimate fun vehicle for me. That doesn't mean it's for everybody and I know that. That is the point, as far as I am concerned there is only one real Jeep, that's the first one that helped win the war.Saying a Jeep is real just because it has 2 doors is a joke, all new Jeeps aren't real in my eyes.Don't get me wrong, new Jeeps are much better in just about every area. Strength, power, comfort, drive ability, power , and much more. My real point is, for everybody who thinks their Jeep is the best, there is one better. I also can't stand people who think theirs is the best, especially when they are very clearly wrong !

TeraFlex 2.5" Performance Budget Boost. Super happy with this setup rides same as stock. No issues.
Added heavy front bumper so I had to replace the front factory springs and TF2.5" spacer with 3.5" RK front springs. Still run factory rear springs and TF spacer as well as all TF brackets.
Last fall factory Sahara shocks were replaced with Rancho 9000 adjustables. Also added draglink flip, AEV drop brackets, and adjustable front Trackbar.

Corners, handles and rides nice.

Tires 35x12.50x17" PitBull Rockers.

My friends and I just installed a 3.5 AEV lift last week and I bought new wheels and tires (Duratrac 315x70x17). I have to say the ride is better than stock, it is so smooth and quiet. I love being up higher and it is much better on the trail (not scraping things now)....So happy with the changes. :)
