Wheel Size Question

I just got a 2013 wrangler unlimited sahara it came with the 18". I am trying to find out what will work best. I think I am going to just do the leaving kit. I was thinking of 18 or 17" with the Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar. I want wheels and tires that I still can do some trailing and climbing. I will not be going crazy with climbing with this jeep. I am going to get a older one for that. But I live in coloardo I am will be in the mountains all the time with the new one.

Congrats on the new jeep! if you wanna stay with the 18's...I'm not sure of the options. If you are willing to change the wheels, you can fit duratracs 33's (33x12.5x15) on 15x8 Level 8 Trackers (3.75 backspacing, I think) with just the leveling kit. You may have to trim the air dam but no big deal. This combo is popular on the forum and looks bad ass and is relatively inexpensive and the duratracs are great on the road and rated well off. If you want 17's...duratrac has a 285/70/17 (close to 33") that will also fit with the leveling kit on the Level 8 tracker 17x8.5 wheel (4 1/2" backspace i think).

Hope this helps. I've been doing a ton of wheel/tire research too and these are two that I'm considering (if I dont go 35's and 2.5" lift )

Goodyear MTR's are still tough tires, I hv them on my rubi, I'd buy them again but make no mistake they are not some nice ride sissy road tires...I air mine to 28-30 so I don't need a kidney belt.,,

If you are willing to go 16" wheels. The level 8 trackers have those too. I have that combo with 285 x 75 x 16 Duratracs. They are 33" and I have a leveling kit. It works fine for my needs and looks kickass!! Check out the pics and details in my jeep profile.
