wheels and tires for sport

I currently have a stock 2010 Wrangler and I am looking to get some new FATTER rims and tires. I could use a little direction. I do not want to lift the jeep so I want to know what size rim and tire I can go up to without having to worry about any fender rubbing.

Also what are good online places to shop for jeep rims and tires?

Thanks guys.

You can go up to a 33 inch tire on stock suspension. You will not have any rubbing if you get a wheel with 4.5 inches or less in backspacing. The rubbing on the fenders will only occur when you are off road while flexing.

Check out 4WD.com and there might be a location near you. Quadratec.com is always a good place to look.

You can fit a 33x12.5 inch tire (33 inches tall, 12.5 inches wide) on fine with the right wheels. That is what I am running right now.

Thanks man. I appreciate the advice. Do you have any pics of what your jeep looks like with this set up?

@tysalem Nice site recommendations pal. They taught me a lot, including how expensive modding my jeep will be.I look forward to this expensive journey.

Where are you located? As soon as my spare wheel gets here I'll have a brand new set of the factory 17" aluminum wheels with tires for sale. They have less than 30 miles on them. We drove it home from the dealer and swapped them out.

I am in orange county ny. Would love those wheels. Attach a picture of them with a price you are looking at. Are you selling them with tires as well.

Thanks

Not quite true Ty. I am running Moto Metal M909s w 4.5" backspacing and Nitto Terra Grapplers @ 285R70/17's and at full right wheel displacement, the outer forward edge of the tread rubs on the bottom of the air dam. Any sort of modest lift will correct this, but it does currently rub.

Shipping would be a killer for that distance, I'm sure you could find something closer to you and turn out better. By the time we agree on a price and get them shipped we're probably looking at $1200-1300, which is aftermarket wheel territory. I thought maybe if you were within driving distance we could work something out.

LOL, I am familiar with the concept! I chopped the hell out of the wheel wells on the Avalanche to fit the 33's. Went through a dozen Dremel wheels before I got rid of the rub! On the JK, I am going to lift 'er soon anyway, so I am justgoing to make turns that don't go to the locks till then. But thanks for the fair advice!

@oilwell1415 . I appreciate you looking out. Yea - 12-13 would be a lot more than I would be able to pay for stock. Thanks though!

I don't think there's much to that thing anyhow. Some remove it all together. And I do think that it also has to be sightly modified when chopping the bumper ends for the caps (stubby bumper mod) too

I bought a set of stock Jeep wheels for my sport from another site membrer. I replaced the stock 225/75R16s with 255/75R17s. It made a big difference in appearance and it was relatively cheap.

Okay well I have 3.75 inches of backspacing and I don't have ay rubbing. I have heard that 4.5 is the best BS to get. Just rip that stupid plastic air dam off. I also have an aftermarket bumper so that's not a problem.

@volfireman07 Good call man. How much did you pay for the rims and tire upgrade?
