When to change your wiper blades?

I've had my Jeep for almost 2 years and I don't know when I would have to change them.

When they stop working as well as they should. Usually every 1-2 years depending on the conditions your Jeep sees.

If you can see that they are torn at any of the edges, it's probably time to change them. Also when it's raining if there are any lines of rain left after the wipers... wipe, then it's probably time to change them.

I got my Jeep 2 years ago on Thursday. I am still using the original wipers. They seem to be holding up well. Snow, ice, rain, etc and they still clear the windshield as they should.

I usually replace my wipers at the beginning of every year. After 1 year, I usually start to notice that they will not clean the windshield very good, or they will squeak as they slide across the glass.

I am more OCD about my windshield, I wait for the car to warm the windows, no way do I use a scraper

As long as they're working the way you want no need to change them. A few months from now that might change. FYI, 16" blades fit and work perfect on a JK. Something you might want to consider when you change them. I've been using Bosch 16" for years.

Every year if you park it outside or you can wet the windshield down and turn them on. If you don't get a clean window from a single sweep, its time to change them.

The problem is that they deteriorate slowly, and you don't notice how bad they really are. I won't go more than two years on a set myself.

I buy the "curved" Rain-X wipers. They last forever.

Have bought a few replacement wipers and they don't seem to work nearly as well as the originals. At the point of needing another set now. I see a couple like the Bosch. What have others had success with and where do you buy them?

You can make them last twice as long by flipping them inside out.
