Here's a pic of it, if the schematic is accurate it bolts on to there and the wire screws into it which means you can re-route it quite easily. I had a stand-alone unit before, and wrapped the wire around the tweeter and laid the antennae angled up behind the tweeter, which worked fine for a year.

Now get off my lawn.
+1
-just for the record, my wife and I love our Sirius receivers (Ford Edge and the Wrangler) and the signal strength and sound quality are always 5 / 5.

Thanks for the replies everyone! It must be the tent then blocking the signal. Now that I know the cause and i know exactly where the antenna is, how do i relocate it? Is the wire long enough to be rerouted? Or is it easier to leave the stock antena where it is, and just disconnect it from the radio and get a new antenna?

When I drive with the hard top, Sirius will cut out occasionally, but when I have the Trek NX soft top installed and fold back the bikini top, the Sirius will cut out 50% of the time. I have 2 external XM radios in my truck and car and they rarely cut out. I wonder if I can place the current antenna in a different location.

I'm not sure if it's interchangeable with the factory deck, but maybe try picking up one of these and experimenting..

I replaced the factory antenna with this same one and in the same place. I had to relocate it due to the Gobi rack blocking the signal. I have had no problems with reception at all in the new location.

Where did you move it to?

By the way, today I relocated my aftermarket SiriusXM antenna from right next to the stock antenna to on the hood just shy of the footman's loop. I'll report back if I continue to have reception difficulty.

I put it on the passenger side cowl right by the windshield wiper. I used this antenna.
Amazon.com: Sirius Radio Dot Micro Car Antenna: Car Electronics

When you unplug the factory one this will just plug into the end of the cable coming from the radio.

Worse than ever after my move. Starting to wonder if the antenna cable is damaged.

I haven't gotten another antenna to test the cable out, but for some reason it hasn't been bad the last few days. It is frustrating that there isn't a good way to see actual signal strength

Since I was off yesterday, I pulled the dash apart and moved the sirius antenae so it's now in the center of the sound bar under the soft top. So far reception seems much better. I drove around to some the areas where I was having issues in the past and so far I haven't lost the signal. We'll see how this goes...

For me, it's back to bad enough that I'm not even listening to Sirius. Have to order a new antenna, and will probably get a pigtail to go from the back of the Sirius box over to the panel near the door hinge so I don't have to pull apart the dash every time I want to try a different antenna route!

I was going to try a new Antenna also! My Wife drives a Sky Redline with the older xm setup, she has no problems except for the usual bridge or tall building.
Keep the updates coming guys!

Really appreciate it but the hassle with the paper work and outrages shipping costs across the border would really inconvenience you.
Thanks for the offer!
Cheers

I have an aftermarket radio with Xm/Siruis. I installed mine on my cowl right behind the passenger hood hinge. I had mounted closer to the windshield, but it would get block when I was traveling due north. I moved to the present location and rarely lose signal. if you look close in this pic, you can see the small black antennae behind the pass. side hood hinge.

Ok, picked up the dot antenna that was previously pictured, moved it all over the hood, even near the Jeep emblem no better... IMO it's the quality of the radio. My wife's Saturn has no problems.
I give up
