i have never ordered anything from quadratec yet or 4wd from what i hear on the forums it seems quadratec sends out used parts? Is this honestly true? i want to finally order the rampage recovery bumpers for my sahara and dont know exactly where i should order from yet. Any input would be much appreciated.

I use both and never had a problem. Customer service is great as well as their return policy.

This may sound crazy, but always do a quick search on amazon for what you want

X3 Ordered many times from both companies and never had any problems. Quadratec ships quickly and has always given great customer service. I have a 4WheelParts store less than 10 miles from my home, so I have orders shipped there and they too have always given me great service. You usually don't hear from the satisfied customers but 9times out of 10 you will hear about the dissatisfied ones.

no it is not true. quadratec doesn't send out used parts. there have been a few members on here recently that have had a bad experience with quadratec recently, but most are very pleased with them. a few members have recently gotten merchandise shipped to them that looked like it was purchased and returned and then re-shipped. i would hardly consider them used. as with any business, you cannot please everyone, and eventually you are going to leave some customers unsatisfied. quadratec has been in business for 20 years and has been a huge name in the jeeping community for nearly that long as well. i have been using quadratec for years and have never had any problems with quality or lead times in getting what i order. if i have questions, i call and speak to a real live person right away. their staff is very knowledgeable about all models of jeeps and all of their products, they don't just read out of the catalog. i like quadratec and often refer people to their website.

I would be one of the people who DID get something used from Quadratec. I ordered (first) a Detroit LSD from them. They sent me the wrong one (wrong carrier break- they sent me one that couldn't fit in a JK- thanks!). Then, I returned that, and ordered an Auburn ECTED instead (having received a paycheck while waiting for them to process my return). It arrived with one carrier bearing on, one obviously ripped off, parts missing, and stinking of gear oil (meaning it had been run). I returned this, and asked for a replacement. They messed that up as well, and I ordered from 4WS.com They got it right the first time- no hassle, no drama. In the meantime, courtesy of Q-tec, my rig was out of comission for over a month. This is my DD- unacceptable.

Next time I ordered from Q-tec was a few weeks ago. Figured I'd give them another chance, especially since they were the only ones who had a part (Teraflex Teralow 2-low conversion) in stock. Or so they said. Checked online with an advisor. Yep, we have two in stock. Called- same response. Can you guess where this is going?
Ordered. Waited a week. No little brown box. Called- backordered. Haven't had one in weeks. Thanks again, guys. Called TF- got one within a week.

I give them SOME leniency due to their being a bigger store, but these mistakes I can neither forgive, nor afford. They have truly pissed off this guy here. I've run a shop in the high-performance field for 7 years- I've dealt with every mail-order house under the sun. I've worked with Summit Racing for 10 years personally, and only ONCE had a shipping mistake. I've spent (I just did a rough tally) close to half a million dollars (yes, $450K+!) with them, over 5K orders, and only one quibble. Q-tec has received 12 orders from me, totaling roughly $7k, and screwed up 4 of them. Pretty terrible job, that!

I've only had minor troubles with 4WD.com 4WS.com is great, but has a limited stock. Northridge 4x4 are good to deal with. Trailduty is good- the owner is a great guy. They're not the quickest, but call and talk to Phil- he'll take care of you. I vastly now prefer the smaller Jeep places, as they actually seem to give a damn about you, and will take care of you. I spend a LOT of money on my vehicles, and I can't abide by my time being wasted by fools like Q-tec. I'd rather spend a few bucks more, and know I'll get what I ordered, and in decent time, thanks :) Mark W.
