Which Headlights On MY JK?

I would like to upgrade the mediocre stock headlights on my 2010 JK. I put in Sylvania bulbs a few months ago but still not thrilled. I don't need them for off roading, just regular driving. For my purpose, I'm having a hard time justifying paying for Speakers or Truck Lites. What are your recommendations? I am looking at these two. IPF H4 Headlight Conversion Kit for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec and H13 LED headlights. I know there is a "lights" thread but figured more would see it here. Thanks.

You may want to check out the KC HiLites H4 headlight conversion kit also. Only cost $109.00 on Quadratec. I upgraded from stock to the KC kit and I'm very happy with the result. More light in front of Jeep using low beams and high beams are better too. For normal street driving, a good affordable DOT legal upgrade.

+10 on this option. I installed this on my 2013 JKU. Swap was seamless and simple. Complete integration with supplied harnesses. Improved the low beam to a usable level and REALLY improved the high beam. I had too hard a time swallowing the price for Trucklites or JW Speaker. I'm completely pleased with these for the price. I don't see any reason for further upgrade for me.

I installed a leveling kit on 12/31 and actually had an oncoming driver flash me while I was on low beams last night, so I'll be aiming down a bit. Beyond the obvious improvement to me, it told me that others thought it was a bit bright too.

I do have dually D2's on my pillars, so those and the KC headlights throw out all the light I need for normal conditions.

I received the: Delta Tech 011148-50X - Delta DOT Hi/Lo Xenon Headlight Kit for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec as a gift.

I've yet to install them. I am excited that they will be brighter than the stock lights. Any insight as to the quality of these light? pro's? con's?

Well, so much for having a hard time justifying paying for Truck Lites. I decided to order them after speaking to Northridge 4X4. The conversion kits I was looking at would definitely be an upgrade over stock, but I didn't want to do this only to want to replace it with the Truck Lites next year. Kind of like when I got BFG TA KO's 265/70R17's in July only to replace them last week with GYD's 33X12.50 with 15X8 Level 8 Trackers. Should have just skipped the BFG's. The $200-$250 difference going to the Truck Lites made sense to me instead of $180 now and another $4xx later. Northridge has them on special for $419 for a pair with anti flicker harnesses with free shipping. Speakers were way out of my range though. Glad I made the jump and I am sure I will like them.

Good to know, I'm on the verge of pulling the trigger on these. I can't justify TLs, but the stock lights have to go....

I wouldn't recommend you run any replacement headlight other than TLs, JWs, or HIDprojectors. They are a waste of money. I had IPF headlights (collecting dust in my basement) and they were marginally better than stock. I don't see why you would spend $120 on lights that dont work rather than spending a little more for lights that do. You buy headlights once, do it once and do it right.

You should't have to buy f*$%ing headlights for a late-model vehicle.....

That Northridge deal is pretty tempting though. Wonder how long they'll offer it. But then I'd have to upgrade the fogs too, since my OCD would kick in hard.....

Thanks for the info. I ordered the TruckLites tonight. I drive a lot of canyons so any help seeing deer is well worth the money.

My TLs haven't even been delivered yet, and I'm already imagining my OCD. It's going to drive me insane until I can get some LED fogs.

I almost pasted a deer on the way to work this morning, didn't see it until it was almost too late due to the pathetic OEM lights.

Ordered the TLs when I got to work, enough of this BS.....

TL offer most bang for buck. TL costs almost twice, but I can't believe they are twice as bright. You can find TL on eBay for about $329, but you have to order anti flicker cables elsewhere if you want them or need them. Northridge was a bit more, but was one stop shopping. Used to dread driving with OEM using the Phillips, but now no more fear. The highs are really great! Some say the hotspot bothers them or there is a X pattern, but I just adjusted mine properly and it is one of my surprised better mods.

Since you already have halogen bulbs, the only significant upgrade is to go to off-road only bulbs that draw more amperage and won't last as long as street legal bulbs. You'll get flashed more by other drivers too.

Beyond this, you'll have to go to LED lights [not bulbs] or a properly designed HID system [not a Chinese fleaBay rig].

I actually like the mix of yellow light right in front of my jeep and a white light from my KC led headlights. I may be weird tho.

Talked to Northridge and the sale is good through January. As for the OCD, I have CDO which is like OCD but the letters are in the correct order. So yes, I'll have to buy the fogs too.

What I can't help but think is to just upgrade with better bulbs and spend the $400-($600 if you buy fogs too) on added lights or light bar for added light when on the back roads. Ugh!! This is a tough one.

Just installed my TL's. I had to adjust them because of my leveling kit. Much brighter and very happy with them.
