Which R10A did you order?

It's been asked a quite a few times in the R10A info thread (http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/201...ad-201075.html) which model every one ordered.

So if you've ordered already please select which one.

other than the second tow hook that just decreases break over clearance do tell me what makes that thing worth 40 grand when you can get a standard one for under 30.

Oh ya know, unique vented hood, unique front and rear steel bumpers, unique springs... Cheap stuff like that

Also, please tell me how a tow hook affects Break Over angle. You can have your opinion and share it, just make sure it is not ridiculous.

Unless I missed the tow hooks under the body on the frame I don't see how it affects breakover angle. Approach and descent angles, well yes they do.

it seems to have justified it for well over 2000 people at this point and thats months before one even rolls off the assembly line. I am to assume you are now degrading over 2000 people over what an extra 1000 bucks to have a somewhat unique Jeep, something I believe everyone on this forum is after to some extent.

respect to one and other -- that means no flame fests.

let's try this again. keep it civil and keep from taunting one and other or we'll close the thread and it'll be gone for good.

thanks!

So after 37 votes Anvil has about 54% of the votes, lot of early adopters that still are unsure of what the color will look like. Me included

The price includes much more than you think. The 10A package includes connectivity, power convenience group, also leather heated seats and premium soft top. I'm sure there are a few more options I'm forgetting that are included in the package.

If you price out a standard Rubicon with all the same options which are standard on the 10A, the price difference is around 1100-1200 more for the 10A. The hood alone is worth this difference if you've priced an AEV vented hood or similar and allowed for the paint cost. You also get steel bumpers and the front is winch ready. All in all you are getting what you pay for when compared with aftermarket equivelants.

True you may prefer the aftermarket bumpers to these but that is your "taste" which is a subjective thing for everyone.

BUT you certainly can't buy an equivelant Jeep with all of these options minus the hood and bumpers for under 30K according to the MSRP. We all know that most purchasees are not at MSRP including the 10A.

Your money, your opinion. For me the price is justifiable considering the option list.I'm not looking for a Sport to build, but a loaded Rubicon to tweak.

I just did a build and price on the Jeep website.

Standard Rubicon with options of base 10A is 34,755.00
base 10A rubicon is 35,995.00

A difference of $1240.00 total, for hood, bumpers, gas cap cover, taller springs, more expensive tires and special addition tow hooks, wheels and logos.

To moderators- not trying to flame or argue with these two posts. Just trying to inform all, of the actual numbers.

I built several Rubicons at Jeeps web site and my 2 doors were pusing 40K. That price included everything including dual tops and the 730N radio. Now price some AEV bumpers and an AEV heat reduction hood and see how much you're spending. I got the same Jeep in 10A trim for 38 and change after getting an employee (5% under invoice) discount. From where i'm standing, the JKR 10A is an absolute bargain! And, it's not bad on the eyes either.

Wow, not as many doing the black/red combo as I thought there would be. Maybe its just me who has a huge fascination with the way black looks with red as an accent color.. throw on a Skyjacker red suspension and its going to look amazing with the doors off :-)

There are only two color combos for the 10A interior:
  • ALL Black (Black seats, and ALL Black interior w/ black stitching)
  • Red and Black (Red Seats, Black interior w/ red accent stitching)

You may already know that, but by the way you posted it sounds like you are thinking with the black seats you will have red accents in the interior. That has been painfully proven by myself through my dealer a Jeep rep, and has been confirmed by ArcherAce with the ones that have already rolled through the factory.

Black = All black, no red at all on the interior. Black/Red = Red seats and black with red stitching elsewhere in the interior. The pole above simply has red or black as the option, meaning which color leather seats you chose.

No, I mean Black paint, with red seats. Sorry for the confusion; already aware of the mix up on the stitching thing, been following the 10a thread like crazy hah.

Cool! Just wanted to make sure. I ALMOST went black exterior with Red seats, but eventually settled on Billet with Red. If the wheels weren't black, I probably would have gone with the black exterior.

I like black on black to be honest, but not overly much. Like the "stealth" look some people do where they black out everything. It has to have a color to balance it out, and red is my favorite to do so. If it weren't for the 10a I probably would have went with a red Jeep with black as the accent color kind of like the smitty built ones they use for their ads if you've seen it.

If you have to ask a question like that then you just wouldn't understand the answer anyway.

While my first choice was White with Red seats the exclusive nature of the "unknown" Anvil and the fact that my 5 year old boy loved the look of the 10A in Avil with Red seats I went Anvil. I've had white, silver/gray, and black cars so something that's not really a standard shade is going to be cool. I still think about the white 10A but my wife's car is a Honda Odyssey in White so a huge white van so a huge white jeep might be a little too matchy for me. My company's colors are black and red and if it was a company truck it would be perfect.
With that said the Billet with Red seats and black hard top/fenders looks like a true rugged Jeep to me and therefore a solid choice. Ah hell I like them all!

I should also point out that so far there are 17 vehicles with black leather and 46 with red so it looks like adding the black wasn't all that necessary. Those of you with black leather will be, for sure, riding around in the most limited production Jeep special edition... maybe besides the Dune Moab that was available to order for like a week or something.

So far we have about 80 responses to the poll out of over 2000 orders. I guess most of them don't know about this web site.

I ordered an Unlimited in Anvil, with Red interior. And for the past two weeks, I was really questioning my choice... Not that I didn't care for the color combo... But that so many seemed to be thumbing their noses at the red interior, and so uncertain of the actual look of Anvil. But after researching tirelessly and looking at images after images AND then finally getting to see one in person at the auto show... I did an about face! 100% positive I picked right, at least to the extent of my taste...

Had seven CJ's/Wranglers in the late 70's thru mid90's. last one was a '95 Sport. I'm really excited to get back in the hobby... Er, I mean passion!

I have just one question for this forum: where are the order numbers coming from? I'm just curious.... Wondering how limited this "Limited Edition" will ultimately end up being....

Our best source has been Pat of Fields Jeep for ordering info and more. He has kept us up to speed on when we could order and everything else so far. 3500 to 5000 was the number that was told to him by the powers to be above him so that is all that we have to go on. I just think that is is great that they have let us order our Jeeps before the dealers were able to get them all and jack up the prices that we would have had to pay in the end. I have to say that someone high up deserves a great big thank you for this!
