which top is better stock?

I plan on buying both hard and soft top, but not sure which is better to have stock. I've heard to go with hard and buy a soft second hand due to the fact after market hards might not fit as perfect as a stock

Yeah, definitely get the stock OEM Freedom HardTops or just get Dual Tops.
I know that the aftermarket soft tops (as expected) are huge for Jeeps.

I would defiantly buy the hard top, but I have to say i like the look that the soft top has to it, if you can get one then go for it

I have both, and never use the hard top. In fact I am thinking of selling it. I just don't like it. It is a pain in the a$$ to take on and off, and I don't like the look of it.

In texas a soft top is nice to have cause its very hot, but i would keep it just incase it was going to rain and you had to go someplace

I went the dual top route. Figured the hard top will be better for winter, avoiding the cold, the salt, and all the other crap you deal with those 3-4 months a year. I also like the look of the hard top in addition to the soft top.
I had to take the hard top off to remove the soft top per Jeep's instructions. (Don't leave them on together.) I thought it was easy to take off and put back on. I did it with my wife, who is no muscle woman and stands a whopping 5'2", and we managed just fine...and that was with an Unlimted.

id say just the opposite of everyone else, if i had a 4 door i would get the cheapest top from the dealer and sell it and buy the slanted back tops(either hard or soft) i forget who makes them

Dual Tops are the way to go.....even though I refuse to drive my Jeep when I know it will be raining.....I am sorry. I will go offroad and get her dirty as heck, like last weekend --- no problem. Immediate car wash and interior detail --- I am just picky about it. Was the same with my Porsche, Corvette & Viper. Ran them ragged (Viper & Vette) on the tracks and SCCA competitions, but when they came home they were detailed, almost immediately.

AndyLA, I second that!!!!!!! I'm the same way - Gotta have the hard top though, there's just no way around it....However, I will never use the soft top,(ITS FOR SALE AND I'LL MAKE SOMEONE A GREAT DEAL ON IT) but the freedom top can't be beat. On my last wrangler, I sold my hard top that came with it and bought a two piece hard top from best top - it was awesome to say the least and never leaked, I can't handle the leaking! I'm glad to see that someone else on this forum likes their JK clean too.
