Which Winch? need help deciding

previously i ran the m8000 on my tj

now i own a 2008 JK Rubicon that will be running
3.5 inch aev lift
35inch bfg km2s
just ordered my poison spyder front bumper

trying to decide which winch our of these

WARN ZEON™ 8-S Winch with 100' Spydura Synthetic Rope and Hawse Fairlead
(800$)

WARN M8000 Self-Recovery Winch (12V DC) 100' Spydura™ Synthetic Rope and Polished Aluminum Hawse Fairlead (900$)

or should i go with a 9000lp winch?

lists of pros and cons would be great and any other input is always welcome

thanks

Where are those prices quoted from? Just curious because they seem like a good price for those winches. I didn't think you could get the Zeon that cheap.

That's precisely the place I checked before I asked. Qtec is showing $1,049 for the Zeon 8-S. Where'd you get $800?

WARN 88980 - WARN ZEON™ 8 Winch with 100' Wire Rope and Roller Fairlead - Quadratec

Using the Google link from Google Shopping above should get you free shipping (but you still have to pay the overweight charge).

But he listed the S or synthetic for that price. That one is $1049. $799 is the price for steel cable variant. That one is called "wire rope" which is not Synthetic Rope.

Here is the Synthetic version link http://www.quadratec.com/products/92136_0201_07.htm

Whops my bad I got the prices mixed up buy anyways I'm not worried about the price I'm interested in people's input on which one to go with is there a big difference between the two winches???

I personally like the zeon because it's got a better looking design and is all black which will blend in with my bumper and grill. But I'm asking people's opinion on which is the better winch?

I called warn and ask which of two they suggested for my jeep. I was told the M8000 is being discontinued and parts will be an issue in the future so I chose the Zeon 8000 S.

The Zeon is dead ass sexy and stays so when seen in person. But doesn't it fit differently than others and not fit in certain bumpers? Be sure it will fit.

It would be a shame to see Warn discontinue the M8000. I certainly hope not.

Yea I agree it is sexy and I'm planning on slapping it on the poison spyder brawler lite bumper which isn't a recessed winch bumper so it looks like it will fit "just mounting it on top where its flat " but I'm gonna call and double check

Call and ask. It would be interesting to see if they tell you the same thing they told me.

I'll do one better. Let me send a link to this thread to Warn Industries rep Andy, who comes on here sometimes. Let him tell us the scoop on this.

sounds great and i just saw a video of these winches is it just me or do they look bigger than the usual warn winch say the m8000?

also is 8000 enough for a 2 door jk or should i go with the 10?? i think 10 is kinda overkill for a 2 door maybe if i had a 4 door....wish they had a 9000......think ill be fine with the 8000s? thanks for the help

RECON 10,500 with synthetic. Waterproofed winch. If you like playing in mud or puddles, think about it.

Just to clear this up, the M8000 is not being discontinued. I'm not sure who would've told you this, since it's a known fact around here that there are no plans to stop production of this winch, as it's a best-seller for us.

For future use, the WARN Customer Service service number is 800-543-9276. Our people are here in Oregon at one of our two facilities.
