Which would you choose

Hello all!
I have been looking and reading for a bit now and still confused!

Been looking at a 2012 Sahara & Rubicon that said the local chevy dealer has a pair of 08 Rubicons.
I get a call from them this evening and they want my 03 chevy p/u with a diesel... I said make me a deal I can't pass up!!!

My question to all of you is... Is the 08 worth my time and effort or should I pass and go to the 2012?

What are the differrences between the 08 and the 12 aside from the motor?

Thanks for looking

What condition is the rubi in?

The main difference between 08 and 12 (besides engine and tranny) is interior. Leather and heated seats, steering wheel controls, and other luxuries

Do what's right for your budget. FWIW, my wife and I looked at '10, '11, & '12 and settled on a '10 with 9k miles (two weeks ago). We actually liked the interior of the '10 better (more open/roomy/Jeep-like) and didn't think the '12 had been proven enough to bet on. We ended up paying $26k for a JKU w/Islander and every other package & option available. New it was $33k and to build one now would be closer to $35k. The way I see it is our Islander won't decrease much on value since the major depreciation has already occurred, so in a few years we'll still have lots of equity.

THAT being said, interest rates are so low that if you keep your vehicles for a long time, I would definitely consider brand new and a 6-year loan.

rubi is the only model I would go preowned. Mainly because of the 4.10 gears. And ONLY if in pristine condition. Hard to find one that hasn't been used for its intended purposes.
Most will tell you to go new because of the high resale of wranglers and warranty.
I was able to find one with a small amount of factory warranty left and saves over 10K over a new one.
I have not had any big problems. Knock on wood

Thanks for the reply's!
I was able to do a little checking, One of the two has been in an accident so that just got scratched off the list.
The other is a bit higher than blue book so I am guessing he is willing to negotiate?
Just wish we had a dealer closer than 2 1/2 hours with some inventory!

Always room for negotiating. They make more money on preowned vehicles.
