Grinding price with the dealer for a 2012 Rubi. Can other members give me what they paid for their 2012 Rubicon, also with what options.. Thanks!

Yes, I think my Rubicon has all options. I didn't want leather or dual tops ($2,500), but it had body color top and fenders and everything else was right.

I've had it a month and really like the black on black. I think the painted fenders will really show brush rash, but it will look good if I replace them with stock black fenders.

Taking everything into account, I purchased my 2012 JKU Rubicon with almost all of the available options at slightly better than 2% below invoice. I received 1% below invoice using Tread Lightly, an additional $500 off using Jeep's military incentive program which is more than 1% off the purchase price, and I received a one-time opportunity to purchase mopar accessories through the dealership's parts department using employee pricing.

I'm very happy with my purchase and the buying experience at my dealership.
Hey bo9roadking, is you jk mango tango? do you have pics posted? Like to see a bigger pic as I am still indecisive in my acquisition and have yet to see that color on the lot.

My JK is Deep Cherry Red. I like Mango Tango, but it is not offered on a 2012. You might check out the Crush or Dozer colors that are being built now. They aren't exactly Mango Tango, but they are probably your only options on a 2012 that have some orange in them.

I haven't taken many pictures yet because I'm waiting on my suspension to get the larger tires and bumpers installed. I'll take more pictures after I get my JK lifted. The kit is here, but the shocks haven't arrived yet. This is the only picture that I have right now that was taken with my phone:

Ordered mine today - $30,662 plus small doc fee - 2 Dr Rubi, Deep Cherry/Black, Auto, Hard Top, Supp air bags. No TL, but it did come up in our discussions. Really wanted either of the Greens (Natural or Black Forest) but the Cherry is growing on me...

That seems pretty good. Mine was 8.8% off MSRP (33,700 on 36955), yours is in that ballpark 8.2% off MSRP. (37,750/41,125).

Your price is good and you aren't paying for it on the finance side (2.9% for 60 is good), prime is 3.25. Might be a little left, but IMHO, that's certainly a better deal.

I plan on ordering a 2012 Rubicon on October 4th, if that is when Black Forest Green becomes available. The best offer I have so far is $35,001 with USAA pricing plus a $499 dealer documentation fee.

Rubicon $28,256
Auto Trans $1,001
Leather $801
Tow $240
Power Convenience $610
Side Air Bags $436
Remote Start $178
730N Media $1,642
Heated Seats $223
Tinted Windows $267
Dual Top $1,446
Connectivity $53
Auto Temp A/C $138
Destination Fee $800

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this even lower before October 4th?

VA dealer doc fee is bogus isn't it. Try and get more off the price or check other dealers that have more reasonable "cost of doing business" fees. They are making the whole holdback of 3% if you use the TL affiliate price plus they get 1% if they don't give any of that back in the price. So in total they are selling for up to 1% over invoice when you use TL and they get an extra $499 to pay for the F&I manager to put papers in the computer, get your plates and try and get you to buy worthless extra stuff like warranties. If anything get them ton row in the warranty and be prepared to walk out and find another dealer. Try the emailing option to many dealers trying to set a provce target of 2% off the incoice prices with TL or without.

I'm negotiating with a couple local dealers atm.

One dealer is telling me that they are prohibited from going below the supplier price. He stated something to the effect of signing an affidavit that you aren't getting it below the price or some such nonsense, essentially that they are not permitted by Chrysler to go lower. This sounds like BS to me. Thoughts?

So who actually takes the hit in going from msrp to 1% below invoice with tread lightly? Does the dealer receive the $ back from Chrysler?

(I'm getting fed up with salesmen lying & or not returning my calls throughout the process, just started considering going with a Merc GLK instead...somebody save me lol.)

#43 ·
Your dealer is feeding you some BS. Did he mean employee pricing? Because they are not allowed to go HIGHER than 1% under invoice with Tread Lightly.

And yeah....I also quickly glanced at the Merc GLK myself....but after adding a couple of options...it dawned on me that I really don't need a +$40,000 SUV. The whole point of me even looking at a $35,000 Wrangler is because the top and doors come off.

What dealer? Seems a very good deal. Also, if you qualify for USAA, you may qualify for the Chrysler $500 military discount. Just need an active duty or retired ID card. That discount is in addition to the USAA pricing!

Ordered today - BFG Rubicon unlimited

I was able to order my JK Unlimited Rubicon in Black Forest Green

Rubicon Unlimited w/ Auto
Cloth Seats - Can upgrade to Katzkin for $1200
Heated Front Seats
Max Tow Package
Dual Top w/ Body Color
Body Color Fender Flares
730N Navigation
Connectivity Group
A/C w/ Auto Temp control

MSRP was $40,830.

I was able to get 2% below invoice ($37,385) to place the order + any incentives offered at time of delivery (I will finance if Jeep offers 1.9% or less) . I think it was a pretty good deal and the guys were very easy to work with.

I'm getting $900 below Invoice for the end result of $38054.....and Im getting 15% off dealer pricing on some mods. The only thing im missing on the Rubi is the 730N....I opted for the 430N. Seems crazy after spending that amount hah. The other aspect is I have some money down also in my trade. Helps with the NC road use tax of 3%. Whew. I see taxes, but really there should be a cap. My third JK, second Rubi...and fourth Jeep overall. Love them.
