A relay will help improve the output of the light especially when you you have a long run of wiring to the lights, but you shouldn't have to have one with the 55watt lights.
Do you plan to tap into the reverse light wiring or set them up on a toggle switch?

Likely a lighted toggle switch. If I hook it up to the reverse lights, it'll shut off when I take it out of reverse. If I use a plain toggle switch, I'll leave it on driving down the highway. I'm a big fan of relays and larger than needed wiring in case some day I need to power up something else back there.

KC's covers will fit on these lights with no problem and to be honest, put these lights side by side at night, you would be hard pressed to tell the knockoffs from the KC's.

I personally have 4 of the KC Knockoff's from WalMart and they work flawlessly and if I happen to destroy one out on the trail, I'm only out $23.00 for 1 light and not 200+ for a pair.

While I am always a fan of saving money, I have had the "cheap lights" similar to walmart, but I got mine for $10 each with 150w bulbs, and I have had KC's in 130w. There is no comparison between the two IMO.

When I first got my jeep, the first thing I did was run out and buy the cheapest lights I could find, because I wanted more light!!! HAHA!!! Needless to say, when I finally had the money to invest in KCs I jumped on them. The first time I turned them on they over powered my "cheapos" to the point where I couldn't even tell if they were on with my KCs. If you actually plan on using your lights, save for something of better quality.

Although the bad thing, as mentioned before is if you break them or some idiot has sticky fingers and takes them your out a lot of $$$

I'm currently attempting to save to upgrade to some HIDs, just to try them out, or another set of KCs if the HIDs aren't up to par.

Question y'all, where in the 2011 are you putting the switches for the lights? I am preparing to order one and have gotten spoiled with my extra tj lights. Want to add some to the JKU asap!

Old thread I know, but do you remember the brand of lights? I was at walmart today and saw some but wasn't sure if they were the right ones
