No offense and I really don't care but, these are the reasons Jeep adds these things to Jeeps is because people ask for them. It's also the reason Jeep "purists" say the new Jeeps are like mini vans, to civilized to be a "real Jeep"and will never own one. I personally am somewhere in the middle on this subject. I have a new one and an old one. I do need to ask though, to the person who wants the seat warmers to come on automatically,do you ever go 4 wheeling in the Jeep ?Do any of you who have seat warmers go 4 wheeling ? Thanks for your response.
Do any of us warm butt sissy's go 4 wheeling? Well let's see. My Jeep wasn't 2 weeks old and I had mud coming over the bumper, water holes up to my doors, pulled a few people out of mud pits, had to get my self pulled out once, climbed hills that several of the farm boy trucks with headers out thru their hoods couldn't scream up at full bore. Had a few comments that they couldn't believe I was out with a new Jeep doing "that to it" and thumbs up. All with my toasty a$$. And yeah, I'd like the seat heaters to come on when I remote start it in below freezing temps.
Yeah, my wifes '11Grand Cherokee turns it's heated seats on below 40 but not my '14Wrangler.
Gives her much pleasure in telling me hers is a superior vehicle 😜
My after market seats do! Since I wired them in myself, I was able to have them come on when I remote start, as long as I leave them in the on position when I exit the vehicle.
Not sure what seat heaters have to do with off roading though. I shouldn't have to give up the creature comforts in the name of 4 wheeling. Since I bought it I would argue it is mine to do with as I wish, and if it never leaves the pavement, " It ain't nobody's business but my own".
Some of you guys should try setting your arse down on a cold seat at -40 at 6:00 in the morning sometime. I guarantee it will give you a whole new appreciation for heated seats!
In this province block heaters are not an option as well, they are a necessity.
Check out www.kptechnologies.com. they have a module that is use to keep any momentary button in the on position even after vehicle is turned off. It's made for people always wanting their vdc off but work in most other applications.
To the OP, In the Ram and Caravan, is it a physical on/off switch? My wife's Maxima has the actual switch, so if you leave the seat warmer on, it will start "on" when you start it (either remotely or otherwise). In the Jeep, it's not a physical switch; just the high/low/off toggle. Once you shut the Jeep off, that changes it back to "off".
To get around that, I normally have my butler run out and turn them on. That's harder to do when I'm at work, because he has to drive all the way here to do that for me.

I find that having my butler bring out a half dozen Chinchilla's and placing them in the seat for 45 minutes prior to my departure gives a much more even dispersion of heat. You should have yours try it.
Also, you might want to consider having a work butler as well as a home butler.
/yes, I have heated seats and yes, I wish they turned on automatically with the remote start.
I've noticed that the passenger seat in my jeep doesn't seem to warm up if there's no passenger present. The switch will illuminate to show that it's 'On' but it shuts off soon after.
Remember this is in conditions where I have flipped the switch in the absence of a passenger.
It's possible that the seats are smart enough to detect whether there's anything to heat. If this is the design, it may give insights into the source of the OP's complaint.
It's also possible that my passenger seat heater is broken.
When I get a chance, I'll try it out a bit more to see
a) if it's repeatable and
b) what the intervals are.

I've had heated seats in several vehicles (but not in our Jeep) and this seems to be common. My guess that the air trapped in the seat insulates the heaters from the seat cover and that combined with cold ambient air in the cabin makes it feel as if the heater is not working. Then you sit on it and the pressure closes the gap between heater and cover and your butt also starts heating the seat cover from the other side. Soon you can feel the heat from the seat heater.
I have had the same thing happen, I thought it might be connected to the detection of weight in the seat like when someone is sitting there unseat belted. When I put the Bulldog in the seat it warms up fine. If no detection of someone in seat the seat warmer doesn't work
In the summer my Harley has a 'heated' seat that gets real hot, but it won't work in the winter :whacky:.
I suppose I should complain to someone somewhere.. :deadhorse:
I asked as nicely as I could. Even in my opening sentence I said "not to offend anyone.Yes I live in the desert if you want to call Reno a desert. The Rubicon trail is about an hour away. I do have A/C. It snows here so, yes I know what it's like to not have seat heaters.
I dont know if this has anything to do with it but apparently some manufactures use auto climate control for that function (auto seat heating on remote start).
So does anyone out there have auto climate control that is trying to do this?
GMC vehicles basically use the auto climate control temp you had on just before you last turned off your vehicle..

I have auto climate control on my "14 JKUS and the seat heaters do not come on with auto start. As well, I don't really seem to notice much heat out of mine on high anyway...anyone else? Maybe the mud in the wheel wells is not letting them warm up properly?
My driver seat gets scorching hot. My passenger no heat. I've done all the variations. Both filled. Both empty. Same result. Not only does it not heat at all but the driver side heat light stays on and the passenger side stays on a couple of minutes initially and then cuts off. (Like 2 minutes). Then you press it again over and over again and it turns on for about 5 seconds and cuts off. The dealer is replacing it under warranty. They ordered last week. It came in. I dropped off jeep and then they called and said they ordered the wrong part "now that the mechanic had it apart". Isn't that special!?! Waiting on part Tuesday the 23rd. Interesting side note is I fooled all around with driver side under seat wires when installing driver side tuffy under seat gun storage and no issue on that side. Never touched passenger side. I was glad they couldn't say I pinched or shorted something while installing a passenger side tuffy box. I'll order that side after this gets fixed. Of course "this is the first they hear of this issue."
Thanks for most of your responses. I guess heated seat people are the same as everyone else, some wheel and some don't. Now you guys make me feel like I need them !
I bought my 4 dr Rubicon X when I moved up to Fairbanks Alaska last Dec... Now I am not sure what minus degree temps you are referring to, but up there it was a "brisk" negative 45 degrees below zero on some days. Would it have been nice if the seats turned on when I hit the auto start but ive noticed that if they are on long enough they turn off... Honestly on cold days like that, even decked out in artic gear, the car warmed for 15-30 min, and heat on max, it was still mighty cold. If the seats turned on when I hit auto start, it would likely turn off automatically on my drive to work, and my toosh would get cold mid drive. I have since changed employers from the Army to the Airforce and moved down to anchorage, and luckily its significantly warmer down here and is more likely to hover around 0 rather than hover around negative 30... I'd rather the seats stay on for the drive than turn on for when I'm not in the car...
