I find that I get return waves 90%+ from 2 door Wranglers. JKU more like 50% and under. Seems like the majority of Unlimiteds in my area are being driven by middle age women who have no clue what a "Jeep wave" is and look at you in total confusion when you wave to them. Not sure if their husbands are buying these and they are just driving them occasionally or if they are really being used as kid haulers now akin to a modern minivan. It's a shame, I almost have gotten to the point that I don't even bother waving if I can tell it's a 4 door coming, what's the use!

I warned my wife about the whole wave thing before she took it out for the first time by herself. She loves driving it but concedes that the whole wave thing is colossally nerdy. She even gives me crap when other Jeeps park next to us in a lot somewhere. I park somewhere by my self and when we come out of the store and notice a few more Jeeps around us she goes, "AWWWW HOW CUTE!" lawl

I actually see the same issue with any Wrangler regardless of the model, if it a female driving I get a wave about 10% of the time.

I always wave and I drive a '12 JKU.

Welcome to the forum! Based on your avatar, you certainly don't have an '05.

Well, he just said Wrangler Unlimited. They did make those in '05, they just weren't 4 doors. But based on his avatar, that is not the case.

I don't want to make it a female vs male thing, because an awful lot of male JKU owners don't wave either. But I would say middle age and older females in JKU's are the least likely to wave while male youg to middle age males in JK 2-doors are the most likely to wave. # or doors, age of driver, gender of driver, moded vs not, and area all seem to be factors at play

Barrie's a girl.

But I'm sure she'd be pleased to see us all getting along, like any good group of Jeepers.

Someone said this on the "official thread", but I now try approach it in the same manner they did. I now prefer to look at it as if I am waving to the Wrangler itself in general and not the driver in particular. That way my widdle fweelings don't get too hurted.

Seriously?! Don't get me started! Ha! I drive my kids around in my jeep but it is also our offroading fun seeking adventure finding vehicle. Just because I have kids doesn't mean I have to give in to the stereotypical soccer mom in a minivan. I am NOT that girl!

Can we just all agree that if we are on the WF that we are all worthy of being Jeepers? 2dr 4dr, male or female, mod or no mod... If we are on the WF we "get it" and are part of the community...and I bet we ALL wave. Maybe that is the real difference. WF or non WF...

I agree completely. I have kids too by the way. I make a point to wave. I just wish it got returned at a higher rate.
