Will 15" Black Rock Viper Wheels Clear Brake Calipers

I have ordered these and have heard conflicting opinions as to whether they will fit over the brakes of our 2010 JK. I have ordered 15 x 8 to go with new Duratracs 33x12.5.

4 Wheel Parts say they will barely fit. Black Rock corporate headquarters say they will not. Does anyone in jeepforum land have these 15" wheels successfully in use on their JK?

Follow this link and scroll down a little to see which DTD sells that fit your jeep. They posted all that are guaranteed to work without modification. Post no#553

PM the guys at Discount Tire Direct here on the forum, or call em on the phone. 800-589-6789.

I know the Black Rock D-Windows will fit...MTH has them on his rig.

Not sure why you bought em if peeps gave you conflicting info about fitment.

Discount Tire seems confident they will not fit. See their post here . The MB Chaos 5s have a similar look but will fit, FYI.

I was told NO by DTD

I love those wheels

Please be the test subject and let me know.
Worst case. They won't fit at all.
Hopefully a grind of the calipers does the trick

I would be hesitant to use any wheel that I had to grind the calipers for.

#1 they are your brakes and you shouldn't mess with them
#2 if tire shops have to double weight or stack the weights on your tires to balance them, they will most certainly rub the calipers requiring even more modification to them. Its just to close when there are wheels that provide the room safely.

From what I have seen/read its a minimal modification to the caliper. Not like you need to hog of half the caliper for it to work.

Understand but if the wheel is already to close to fit without modification and you remove albeit even a little of your caliper, you will surely be faced with further grinding should your alignment shop have to double stack weight for those wide 12.5s on 15s. Its pretty common and they've had to with mine and the MBs. You can barely get a sheet of paper between the top of the weight and the caliper and the MBs fit without grinding.
