Yep, it is the wild wild west out there. Here the mods try to keep it to a dull roar. It's a different philosophy, and the reason I like it here.

Hey Man, rock those 26s! If what you want is a customized ride running on big rims and thin skins, go for it. Custom is custom and more power to you. Everyone here knows that you're not going to be hitting the trails or doing any kind of rock crawling with that setup, so I'm not sure why all the bashing and belittling has to go on. Just because that look isn't what the majority on this forum would go with, that's no reason for us to bash your choice of expression and creativity in how you wish to customize your ride. Just my $0.02

Dude, if you REALLY want to look cool in your Jeep, you need these:

Aren't they starting to make tires like this for the military hummers? somekind of honeycomb structure thats supposed to be better for small arms fire and IEDs.

Dude don't worry i'm with you and many other agree that nice Wheels on a Jeep can look nice!... some people are "purists" and only want a muddy dirty jeep with huge rubber tires.. but there is also a market for those who want the fresh crisp look of a Jeep with premuim Wheels and no mud.

keep me posted - 26 inch rims should fit with no problems.

Jeeps are not fresh nor are they crisp. Those words must only be uses in conjunction with Honda civics.

Don't know if this has been said yet, but the question was worded wrong. It should have said "Will these stupid looking rims bolt on to a Jeep?" The answer is yes, they do bolt on. Bolting on and fitting are two different things.

The tweel came out years ago, but the government nixxed it passenger vehicle use because they're unstable and very loud at freeway speed. They are used on forklifts, cranes, and other low speed vehicles.

I haven't heard or read anything about the military using em, but you never know...

This thread is frickin awesome.

I think this question has already been answered but...

If you put 35" tires on 22" rims would it totally suck off-road?

I have had a bunch of different sizes but never had a rim that big. But with tires that big I thought it would still work off-road, but after reading this thread maybe not.

As for the OP - this is an off road forum and off roaders don't like bling trucks. Same thing if you went to the bling forum and talked about off road mods - you'd get the same reaction. To each their own.

Ya, but just picture it: Your jeep club is on an outing that really tests the jeep's capabilities. The naysayers are all lined up like crows on a wire. The noise coming from the crows is deafening.....and lots of laughter. Then along comes those beautiful rims and the hush is painfully apparent. The jeep pulls through all the slaughter as good as any other.

Now....ahem....back from the wet dream of some strange character that wants large wheels and back to reality!

Bling rims are for the parking lots. I imagine the first time you take a 26" rim on a dirt road you will be pissed because you scratched or bent them up. I've seen people bend 15's with 33" tires, what happens with 3.5" sidewall?

Maybe I'm reading into this, if you want 26" rims you obviously aren't thinking about getting a little dust on your jeep.
