will a 2011 OEM soft top fit a 2013 JK?

Hi,

i am looking for a soft top for 2013 jk, and came across an OEM soft top from 2011.

I just want to double check that it fits, and that the hardware is the same as the 2013 improved version where its easier to open and close

thanks!

It should, I am pretty sure they are identical.

It fits 100%. The hardware is not the same, although they are identical in appearance. In 2013, they introduced a spring assist in the soft top arm for both the standard and premium top. The premium top looks different from the outside due to thicker material. Neither was available in 2011-2012.

so 2013 one is better in the sense that its easier to open and close?

how "hard" is the 2011? or its not that much of difference?

its on kijiji for 650 (im in canada - so probably more exp here)

the OEM soft top is usually considered better, but I have no personal experience.

I have no trouble at all lifting/dropping the top on my 12 JKU. I think it might make it easier if your jeep has a big lift. I think most people who have 13 soft tops did not have a prior version top for comparison.

Spring Assist only on Unlimiteds if that is what you have. I had a 2011 JKU before my 2013 JK and honestly the JKU was real easy the spring assist is probably nice but you won't have any problems either way.

So I picked up the soft top today.... and it does not fit........

When I pull the fabric from the back to the front, the front latches seems too short to mount to the latch in the vehicle

And also the top seems shorter than It needs to be, am I doing something wrong.

Help plssss

Is this a four door or two door?

How much too short does it seem?

Sometimes the 3inch nylon straps above the drivers doors get hung up or twisted and don't allow the top to reach all the way forward or down to the windshield. Follow the path of those straps. Also make sure the back two support bars are installed on the right posts.

its a 2 door, i cant tell exactly how much shorter it is, because i didnt look down the header latch as the first step

and just brought the fabric aligned to front, and tried out the other steps.

anyone aware of the header latch not fitting?

This. It should fit, might just require some stretching or sitting in the sun.

Thanks guys for the reply

When you say same top, does that include the hardware...

For me, the header latch is the concern right now..
