Will the hard top fit without removing the folded soft top?

I am buying a hard top for my 2012 JK 2 DR. I'm wondering if the top will go on without having to completely remove the folded soft top? Please advise.

Yes it will. That is how the ship the dual tops. I had mine for a week before I could get the hard top off to remove the soft top.

Will the hard top go over the soft top? Yes, it will.

Is it recommended to run the soft top under the hard top? No, it's not and it will void the soft top warranty.

Why would it void it? Seems kind of silly of they ship them that way no?

It will rub until it wears holes in the soft top.

Mine was folded and secured and didn't rub anything.

You are right. The dual top option ships with the dual top installed inside the hard top. However, it is probably like map folding. Once you open the open it, it's nearly impossible to get folded exactly right.

X2

If you wind up with holes, they won't be covered by the warranty.

To each their own, though. If you're (not YOU, ohioviper, you just happened to be the guy I quoted. ) happy with keeping it inside and not concerned with the warranty, have at it!

It's clearly marked on new JK's with a dual top that it's stored for "shipping" purposes only, so Chrysler won't cover the damage if it's left on a new vehicle. But, X2 with Starbrite. Anyone can do anything they want, but it will damage the soft top.

Are you just trying to transport the top home or do you plan on keeping it on with the hard top all the time?
