Question winch/bumper question

I want to put a winch on my 4dr. 2010 Rubi but I donít want to break the bank on it. From what Iíve read it seems that most people think you should not skimp on a winch. I am looking at the Warn Rock Crawler because of the light weight and the synthetic rope, as well as the ďwarnĒ brand. I plan to use this on the factory bumper with a roughcountry adapter and their end caps to slim the bumper down. This whole setup will cost well under 2K. I donít seem to be able to match this price with a quality off road bumper and winch unless I get a cheaper winch. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated before I leap!

if you can afford the rock crawler get the xd9000i instead, with a longer line. Sin rope if great but nothing wrong with steel.

I agree with 4Jeepn. If you arent going to be using it a lot steel line isnt bad at all.

I was thinking synthetic rope and the rock crawler for the weight - 54lbs. The XD9000i is 104 lbs. does this make a difference for the suspension?

Go out and sit on your front bumper, that will be a little more then how much the suspension would change with 100lbs on it

I would focus on the length of rope xd has 125ft the rockcrawler has 50 feet. that aint much line. PLus the xd costs less. Done deal.

well, with 225lbs, it sank a couple of inches I think, so I guess half that wouldn't be too bad!

Just to chime in on what other's have said ... I had a Warn 9000 and can't say enough good things about it - it's a KILLER winch. When I get ready to put one on my new truck that will be the one I pick.

The Rock Crawler is really a purpose built device. Unless you're crawling over huge boulders in a custom rig you trailer everywhere it will be a waste for you.
