winch questions

Just bought an 8k Champion w/ synthetic line for my '14 JKU. I've researched winches since the day I bought the jeep and was well aware of the varying price range and quality of winches out there. So when I ran across this deal ($350 on sale for $250) at Sam's Club I jumped in my jeep and hauled ass before they ran out. Now I'm feeling a bit of buyers remorse because I'm unsure of the quality of this brand and questioning if 8k is enough for a JKU. I get mixed reviews on the Champion brand and can't find any reviews on this specific model (i think it's a new model) and people have different opinions of what's the optimal pull strength for a JkU. Your input and suggestions are greatly appreciated

I have an 8000 for my TJ. I think at least a 9000 for a JKU. I will be getting a 10000 for ours. I do not have experience with Champion, but have not seen too many good reviews for them.

Craigslist is littered with used winches. For that price I would buy a used winch and wrench on it if needed. I got a src 8000 for $150 it was used once. I much rather buy used and not pay taxes.

Just when you check for used winches use your nose. Smell it. Electric motors have a distinct smell. Also be patient, don't be worried about walking away.

For $250 might as well try it... Of definitely recommend getting a snatch block and using it every time. Much easier on the winch, regardless of it's pull rating

If you use a snatch block, the 8k will be more than enough.

Any updates on the winch? Have you got a chance to try it out?
