Winch to battery termination

Just bought a Warn VR8000 for a 2010 JKU. Instructions say to connect directly to battery. Will the factory battery terminals carry the load? Is anyone using a battery disconnect switch between the battery and the winch?

Make sure everything is clean and shiny and it should hold up just fine.

Disconnect should be rated for more amps than winch will pull.

Just wire straight to batt on both terms. I used a HD terminal kit that gives u a couple extra places to attach to. Saves piling them up all together! Easy cheasy!

I will check the auto part stores for the terminals. Also thought about a battery disconnect switch. Hopefully the winch will not be used very often.

I'm using this Pac Pac 500 Durable 500Amp Battery Isolator Relay w Maximum Current Transfer | eBay

That way I can choose when the winch has power to it by using a switch inside.
