If you have a drill, wrenches and muscles and a slight understanding of using your hands you can install them.

I'd go with the WARN M5000 its like 519.99. Great brand great price

You want to go with a winch pull that is atleast 1.5 times the vehicles weight, I'd get atleast one that was 8000 lbs. of single line pull.

I dunno about you guys, but $500+ is not inexpensive for me! I run the Mile Marker PEC8- never let me down, and I got it new for ~$300. Install it yourself- it's easy- a couple wires, a couple bolts, and life is good
For a JK and OEM bumpers, you'll need a winch plate, though- Mark W.

a Geico lizard rolling up in a tow truck is what pulls me out of a jam.

either that or a $15 recovery strap tied to someone's jeep/truck.

Geico doesn't like me much. Seems like about 60 years ago I drove over the front end of one of their insured. Geico says it was my fault. The Chicago cop that wrote their insured 3 tickets said it was his fault. Geico sued me and lost. Seems they hate paying on damages to cars that are 3 hours new to the driver.

2 years ago I was looking for new insurance and like a dummy I applied to Geico. Seems like they have better memories than I do and brought their loss up again and tried to sue me in a New Mexico court for the damages. The judge was a bit baffled and dismissed the case and fined Geigo's attorney $100 for contempt of court for objecting one time too many. I didn't bother with an attorney.

I kept flipping off their attorney when the judge and court officials weren't looking and he was getting madder and madder each time and he took his anger out on others along with me, hence the fine. In the parking lot, where I waited for him after court because I'm such a giver, he threw his briefcase at me and missed and broke the light bar on a squad car, for which he was arrested.

Now you know why the Geigo lizard doesn't like me much.

Smittybilt XRC8 $299. Insanely good price, good product, good customer service, insanely popular, best bang for your buck by far.

Get in line. I've got two people suing me now. I've been sued over 30 times since I was 16.

My latest lawyer ran a search on me and found out all the suits, many of which I've forgotten about. The joys of being self-employed.
