It's a jeep...

If you put your hand up ther while going down the road you will not feel any air... or shouldn't

You will have that sound. I have it on my 07 soft top. All you have between the outside and the top of your head if a thin piece of canvas. So you will get some wind niose. IMHO it is a small price to pay for being able to pull it off at the drop of a hat on a nice day.

I've got it on my 06 TJ too . . . didn't notice it until I dropped the windshield and added to my cage . . . I don't feel any air blowing in and it's not leaking water so the radio volume has been the cure for me!

That's pretty much normal. Read through the packet that should have been wrapped around your passenger side vanity mirror on delivery, and make sure you put the top on right.

After that, try the new Bestop Headliner if everything is in order. It actually makes a nice bit of difference, and is only ~$100 shipped. It looks good (better than the underside of the OEM top!), really works, and is easily removed- Mark W.

Aye! This addresses '07's through '09's, but apparently some of the '10's are still using the Plastic Headers(?). The TSB listed on 1EyedJack's link should get your Dealer to check it out for you under Warranty.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

Wow I just thought it was a jeep thing. The last jeep i hjad was a 93 yj and it was loud as hell. I just thought it was that way. I'll just have to take it in now. Thanks for teaching me something.

i am curious to see how my 2010 sahara sound with the soft top on. right now i have the freedom top on and i still get wind noise but i never really thought too much about it and just always thought it was a normal wrangler thing. the dealer did however mention the front brackett on mine was abit loose and should be replaced, so they are replacing it for me next week. possibly check that too see if it is abit loose??

So after reading about this and relising, it might not be a jeep thing. I went to my dealer with the TSB # and Part # i got off og here. they looked at the problem and said they fixed it. I drove it at slow speeds, and didn't really notice a difference form the dealer to my house. I drove it to work today on the highway at speed, and it was like night and day. it's quiet, my jeep is quiet. I used to have the volume on the stero anywhere between 18 and 22 on the highway depending on the wind direction and speed. The wind was calm this morning but I could listen to the radio at 12 with no problems at all. I recomend this fix to all soft top jeeps I couls talk on the phone without having to turn the volume up. it was great, I would be comfterable taking my jeep to Ohio and not having to losten to my wife complain about the head ache the wind noise is giving her.

Thanks, all, for this thread. I have a 2010 and thought that having the radio at 22 was normal.
