I believe the stock tint is close to 20%. I did my front two a shade lighter at 30% and it is perfect for me.

I just had them match my fronts to the rest plus a dark windshield strip.

I did mine the week after I got it the front has a small light tint brow you can barely notice and the rest is limo they put over the stock tint. So it looks good I like it.

How much would you guys be willing to pay for each driver side window that's OEM tinted glass...Tinted glass from the factory, no film!

i think i'd rather have a sun/windshield strip....tinted glass don't impress me much. comes with the hard top. don't think i'd buy it.

Mine has it's rear passengers and hard top tint form factory, but I do not tint the front.... I want others to see the "wave"... plus I want them to see the Lucky driver on the Bright White JKU-R.

Back in the mid '90s when I had my '94 YJ--I tinted every window (including windshield) with Limo tint---yeah I thought it looked great. Till I changed shifts and had to drive at night---- out in the country. I added 2 sets driving lights, and 2 sets of fog lights,---- and still couldn't see SQUAT!!

Those big flat windows are easy to tint, but IDK I will ever tint any again. (on a JEEP) Out in the woods, or at night, in rain, or snow.......... I want to see as well as I can--I think that is why a lot of people put more lights on their rigs?

I understand the "look" of the tint but just sayin'........IT's your Jeep do what you want!!

Just my .02

i don't think its within the law, at least in maryland, to tint the windshield. i wouldn't mind a strip at the top of the windshield to help with the sun at times. don't want the front windows done either...never liked it.

I had my front driver and passenger windows tinted as dark as MN law allows $96 to have done. I would probably skip it or go darker then legal if I had it to do over.

I had 20% put on the driver and passenger, 50% on the entire windshield, & 5% strip across the top of the windshield.

I have the factory tint in the rear.

I will do 50% on the front roll ups. I've been quoted $50 from two places to have it done. Normally I do this the first week I have a vehicle, but have been spending every spare cent I have on other mods, so the tint will have to wait.

I haven't decided on the windshield strip. I like it, but my wife hates the way they look.

Never Tinted Need advice

I'm wanting to tint my hard top. I'm thinking 20 on the back windows. The rear window maybe 30. I'm sort of debating if I want to do the front but probably 35 or so for visibility and to stay legal in Indy.

I'm sort of debating doing it myself, but I want it done right and the front and back windows look challenging.

QUESTIONS - Where should I go. Questions to ask about quality and warranty, and what should I pay about?

I had 15% done all the way around (minus the windshield obviously) - looks great with white and have zero issues seeing out of it at night.

I did 20% on my 2-door windows and paid $89 with tax. Took about 45 minutes. Looks great.

$200 sound about right for the front and hard top?

I found a tint/detailing shop pretty close that is willing to do everything but the windshield for $200. I might get a quote from a ghetto shop and then see if they will price match to get an extra 50 off. It seems like a pretty good deal being that factory tint cost $300. Though I would have preferred it being in the window.

After talking to the guy I might do 20% on the sides and 35% in the back.

30% is what is legal in the front in Indy. I hope I don't get messed with.
Here is a link for you to see what is legal in you state Auto Window Tint Laws | TintCenter Window Tinting

I paid 50 for the fronts. The guy had a meter that he used to find the darkness of the rear windows. They were 21%. So I matched the fronts with 20. Looks great.

wish I could find a good used pair of tinted windows for soft top...not going to get the front two tinted until I find the rears...I have to get 50% front and 35% rear because VA laws suck and I'll be moving there. tx laws are so much better, can do 35% all the way around and limo tint in the back if you want. oh well.

Tinted soft top windows can be purchased. I got mine from the dealership for around $350, maybe $375. I can't remember what I paid for the door windows. I know a shop that is very reasonable and very good. They are 20%. Missouri law allows up to 30%. Never had an issue with them or the wifes truck in 12+ years.

damn, 350-375...wish I could just get them tinted, a full tint around a sedan with top of line tint material only costs 300. yours do look great though...need to find a good used set of these or figure out how to tint my own! let the search begin

I had my front windows tinted for $100. In NY that's a pretty good price, 3 other places I called wanted $150 or more.
