Window Wind!!!

Ok,, one grip I have , and its really only this.

When I have the driver window down , I get tons of wind rushing in hitting me in the face and ear. And its not even windy out. Dosnt really help if the passenger window is down either.

Seems like where Im at in the drivers seat, all the wind comes smashing in , and kinda hurting my left ear. I tried moving around , seat is all the way back. Kinda has to be there. Then tilting my body forward. Still about the same.

Anyone else dealing with this?

I really dont like those wind/rain plastic rails that go on the door jam. But if this would help with all the wind hitting me right in the face I would.

Im a smoker and I find it hard to enjoy one while driving. You cant blow it out the window, just comes right back at ya.

But its more getting blasted with wind right into my ear.

Thanks all.

I get lots of wind.. but that's because I have the doors off and the back and side windows out.

.. but yeah, I've had this. It's just poor aerodynamics..

Thats just how it is.....you can always try driving with the rear window open so the wind rushes out of the back, but that would probably mess up the arms holding the window in place by putting lots of pressure on them.

Im going to look for a window deflector. Dont like them, but if it functions, I will be happy. Have to run out to the dealer anyways.

Those jack turds messed up my lease papers and I have to sign new ones. And my payment is due in 2 days. I never got my payment package from gmac. Nice!

Is this a 2D or 4D...... I dont seem to have that problem, or I am not bothered by it.

If it's a Wrangler... learn to love it. It will blow so hard that you'll have a hard time keeping a hat on your head. My hair used to part on the right side... now it parts on the left side from the wind blowing in so hard.

The bigger you make the hole that the wind is coming in as well as going out, the less severe the wind force will be. Just your window down is the worst. If you take the other windows out, it will be less. If you take the top off, it will be less. If you take the top & doors off, it will be even less yet.

If you don't like wind, you should drive a Tata Nano.

if it's a 4 door, try rolling down the driver side rear window. i find that this helps when i have my full doors on. Even just a crack usually helps.

I used to enjoy smoking cigars now and then in my car. Since my Jeep is a 6 speed, it's more trouble than it's worth. Same thing with talking on a cell phone. You know what? Now that I do neither while driving, it makes me a better driver with less distractions.

Try lowering the rear window behind you about 4" if it's a 4 door. Makes a huge difference in my Charger....

The simple answer is that you don't have enough windows open. Open the rear and rear side windows (on a 2d) or all 4 windows and the rear window (on a 4d) I find the same problem if I only open the drivers window. Oddly enough, the more open I make the jeep the less "windy" it feels. opening the whole top is usually "less windy" than just in sunrider position.

I put the passenger and rear window down part way and that seems to alleviate some of the excess wind coming in the drivers window.

Take the doors and top off - the wind hits you from all sides and you don't even know it is there (ain't that how the jeep is driven anyway?)

Perhaps your ride is telling you to quit smoking ...

Guys, and Gurls,, its a 2 door hardtop. You want me to run with the rear window open? I dont think so.

Was just at the Jeep dealer, and the window deflector is not made anymore.

So if anyone has a link to a JK 2 door window deflector,, I would like to have it!

Thanks!

Hmmm, not sure what to do. With a soft top you just take out the rear or side windows and it helps a lot. Or if you had a 4 door you just roll down the rear door windows.

So sad...You should have bought a Hummer........Otherwise you would have the top completely off and find yourself blasted on all sides.....with a sh*t eating grin on your face.....

Exactly right. Lower the driver's side rear window = problem solved.
