Windshield Side Plates? Kargo Master

I'm new here and hoping to beg a little help. This seems like a good site were a new to Wrangler guy like me can learn a thing or two.

I installed a Congo Cage from Kargo Master last weekend. I discovered the hard way that they have a type O in their instructions. I went to install the bracket onto the windshield lower plates with bolts that are too long. I got all of them out and replaced with the correct unit save one.

I have one stuck on the driver’s side. It seems the “nut” that’s inside the windshield assembly is spinning. It does “catch” at times but I can not get the bold out.

Short of applying heat to the bold (without damaging the paint) does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of lowering the windshield to see if I could access the inside of the windshield assembly to get at the nuts that the lower side plates mount to.

Thanks in advance.
