Windshield Whistle & Fix

The original windshield in my 2010 was shattered by a rogue pipe on the highway and the replacement had a whistle. Glass company said not to fill gap above windshield with silicone, as some people have done, as that could hinder future replacement. So they removed glass and put in another seal, but we still had a whistle. So the installer slid the screen down a bit, like 1/8 inch, and it disappeared.

I guess my advice is to take a quick ride after having shield replaced- the whistle seems to always appear at 40-60 and is easily fixable.

What is this screen you speak of?

Sorry, the windscreen, aka windshield. I'm on a synonym kick today.

Mine has horrible wind noise at anything above 30 mph only on the drivers side. I have heard that the depth as well as the placement vertically affects this.

We went with Safelite Glass. That came out and replaced it. A week later I took it to them because of a whistle. They replaced it. No whistle. Great job.
