I placed my order on 2/4 and I received my first e-mail from from Jeep on 2/10 acknowledging my order. I picked BFG but now that Winter Chill is out I would really love that color. Is it to late to change the color?

What's your VON? Or VIN? Idoubt it's D1 yet. Even some D1 orders can be changed.

I haven't been given my VIN or VON yet so I was hoping there's still time to change. I called the dealership but I haven't gotten a response back yet.

You should have your VON immediately. It's given to the dealer the second the click "submit". I'm not too familiar with VOTs the system that tracks your order online, but i bet in your lower bar on IE is the VON. Soemwhere they know your VON.

If it's this soon and you have no VIN the color can be changed. If they won't I might know some people.

Good news, I love the WC but didn't care for some aspects of the Arctic. A WC 2-door Sahara with black leather might get ordered this week!

I received my VIN/VON and the Jeep is sitting in Production Scheduled status. Apparently the VIN/VON was given a few days ago. Is it to late to change colors? And do I have to go through the dealership to have this happen?

If you have a VIN you are at least in D status. The dealer might be able to change the color for you, but it might push production back. I'd go back to the dealer sooner than later to see if they can get it changed.

I called the dealership this morning and they sent an e-mail asking for the change. Also the 430N radio was added when I never asked for or mentioned it so hoping that can be removed too. Hope it's not to late. Fingers crossed.

Change is in the air, I can feel it! Good luck, I've seen the ARCTIC with the Black Soft Top on, Love that look. I think the black fender flares will complement it well.

Warning: first time poster –

After a goofy series of contacts with a local dealer that spanned weeks over Winter Chill in non-Arctic editioins, I read Pat’s announcement and forwarded it to the dealer. He confirmed that I can either order a Rubicon in Winter Chill, or wait until May or June for them to start hitting the sales floor. I am concerned about ordering one as I think it will affect any leg to negotiate price.

Over my lifetime I’ve done a fair deal of haggling (a loathsome process), and even one time changed my daughter’s dirty diaper on the sales guy’s desk (a technique which worked beautifully, but alas my kids are older now), but have never ordered a vehicle before. How much of a leg will I lose?

Ordered the WC Rubicon w/Black Katzkin Leather & 6 Speed Manual yesterday. Rec'd the VON this afternoon.

The order confirmation sheet says Package 23R (Rubicon)=Restriction. Not sure what that means... I'll go search and ping here if I can't figure it out.

Calipers, you can get a good deal by ordering. Take a look at the 2012 Wrangler information thread you'll find the the dealer invoice prices & MSRP. You should be able to get slightly less than invoice ~1% ... plus you can order what you want. I did not want auto, the more expensive NAV system, color roof or some of the other things that I saw on the dealer lots. These things added unnecessary costs for things I did not want. Not sure if that applies to you or not...

The restriction is due to allocation being hit for the month. In other words they have already filled the total number of orders they can build this month.

Yeah, I read that somewhere on the forum. I got the 3-year membership.

I also agree that with the ordering, I can segregate out some cost.

Thanks and cheers!

So, here is a question for anyone willing to weigh in: Is Winter Chill a great Jeep color for me, or is it a great color for a Jeep for my wife? My first take is it will look great with the black flares and black top with tint. ???????????????

I really like the color. I too wanted to see what the Winter Chill would look like with the black trim, so I did a Photoshop quickie.

If you go to jeep.com, select wrangler, then photos, there is actually a close up shot of a winter chill rubicon. All it shows is the black fender, a bit of the hood, and grill. You can see that they use white for the rubicon sticker though.

I ordered mine and haggled down to what seems to be the going rate. The dealer still makes money on an ordered vehicle.

I started with the Bank of America Car Buying Service - most dealers were at least $1000 under invoice and even though it says "For in stock vehicles", 2 of the three dealers in the program were willing to place the order for the same price.
