Wipe New

I'm not sure what everyone else does but the one negative I have had on both my wranglers is keeping the black trim and fenders nice and shinny. The only thing I found that did a decent job was the Meguiars protectant for all materials. I was actually told about this stuff by another Wrangler driver she said she used it on all the black trim on her Jeep and it worked well. Up to this point the only thing I had used was Armor all and it compared wasn't even close in the final appearance. So I started using the Meguiars and it took a couple times using it but it did bring back the black shine, I was rather impressed only draw back was you only got about 3 weeks off of a application and you had to reapply it. The sun down here in the south is pretty warm year around so it fa faded the black pretty quick. Then one night I saw the info commercial for wipe new it's a polish for all black surfaces to bring back the shine I was interested in it and the guarantee was it lasted for years 2 years to be exact. So I ordered it and it came in. I haven't used it yet to cold right now but once it warms up ill deff try it out. Curious if anyone has tried this stuff if so does it work? What do all you use for bringing back the faded black trim and fenders. Seems like the stuff out there now doesn't last very long and if this wipe new lasts half as long and it keeps the shine ill be happy I just want something you don't have to keep reapplying all the time

I bet this is similar to the Back to Black product made by Mothers

i also saw the infomercial but I am staunchly opposed to infomercial purchases so no go for me unless I hear some way overwhelming evidence it's superior.

doesn't the double sized bottle you get look like a tiny sample bottle, and the applicator pad is a tiny piece of cloth. It does come with one rubber glove and a cotton swab tho! It might actually work I just don't like the fake reviews on youtube the business puts out.

Well according to instructions the bottle is suppose to cover 2 mid sized cars. Which means it should last me a while. It says you don't use a ton of the product less then a dime size on the applicator pad. I generally ignore theses commercials but it just got the better of me, I agree I saw some negative things about it as well but it is a legit looking product, ill post a update when I get to actually use it.

The best so far I'v found is Pig Spit ( yes that's the name of it) followed by 303 and mothers. For what you paid for wipe new it better work very well.

Ha ha ha. Great name! How long does that combination last? Do you have to keep applying it every time you clean the Jeep? See that's my main thing, all the products out there probably do the same things but if wipe new lasts as long as it claims then ill be happy even if its half that's still longer then what I was previously doing. Like I said I'm open to trying things so we will find out as soon as we get some warmer weather. Ill deff be posting back after I use it and let everyone know if its worth it.

Reading this thread made me realize that I haven't washed my Jeep in 8 months... Tomorrow may be the day... Sorry, just throwing that out there.

Car worx refinisher restorer. The best thing I have found. Maybe twice a year.
Smells strong, costs more than a lot of the common brand products, but beats everything else I have used hands down! It is what many body shops use. I am impressed every time I use it, at just how well it makes my plastics look new again, and how long it lasts, whatever the weather conditions.

Interesting to see if this stuff really does last for 2 years. From my experience, most TV informercial products are junk like that headlight restorer "Fast Brite."

I was using armor all, and it worked really well.... for about 3 days.

Now I use Mother's Back to Black. It also works really well, and lasts for about 2-3 weeks.

by the time the $19.99 deal is done, you are out about $50.00 bucks.
Look for "solution finish". It's a black dye and works pretty well. Lasts quite a long time.

Yeah it says before you pay how much it costs with shipping and it was just about 40 bucks after all the fees. If it lasts 2 years its worth it, like I said even if its less then 2 years its still longer then most stuff out there now. I don't mind spending $$$ on a product as long as it lasts.

Black Wow is what I use, last for like 6 months. Expensive but you only use a drop of it to cover alot of black plastic. Hands down the best product over all of the above as I have tried them all.

Finally someone else is on my team. I've used them all and this stuff was easy to apply and lasted the longest. B2B just doesn't last long enough and I never cared for 303.

This is what I use as well. Last longer than Mothers ever did. A little goes a long ways too. The best product I have used for Plastic.

I might have to try this next.

After returning that made for TV junk product Fast Brite, I tried Turtle Wax headlight restorer and it worked a miracle. I would not hesitate to try another Turtle Wax product.

Penetrol for me. A few bucks for a quart at Home Depot I think. I've used all kinds of products, and usually only buy Adam's detailing products now (Great support, American company, and a real 110% guarantee) except for the Jeep's trim. I wipe on Penetrol once a year and love the results.
(Just avoid getting it on your paint)

Funny but I just reread the original post and realized we all hijacked this thread because the OP wanted to know if anyone has used WIPE NEW! I too was intrigued by the commercial and would love to know if it really lasts as long as they claim (or as miraculously).

My neighbor used Wipe New on his faded out Envoy bumpers. 4 months later they still look like the day he applied it. I'll be buying some.

Does it rain much where you're at?

I've noticed that Back to Black holds up pretty nicely when it doesn't rain much. But after a nice big rain shower, it starts fading away the next day or two.

My main concern is how long it lasts, I was reapplying every 3 weeks. I want something that will go longer then that, so some of the other products mentioned may be useful especially if they last a while. And some durability with withstanding washes and being rained on. Thanks again for all the posts on this, made me aware of some other products I was not familiar with.

Some one clear this up for me - are we trying to get the plastic black or make it shine? I have good luck using Forever Black to get the flares black again, it would last almost a year here too. It's like edge dressing though, you want to take some time to tape off the painted areas around the flares and wipe it off paint it gets on. I went over the TJ flares fast once and skipped taping it off, the Forever Black held tight on the paint for over a year too.

Just trying to keep it Black. Being out in the sun all day, my fenders get faded really quick and start looking more Grey than Black.

Most of the products I've tried have showroom results, but none last more than two or three weeks. My theory is, the rain and car washes eventually wash away the product.

I started the thread to just let anyone know that I purchased Wipe New which is suppose to bring back the shine to faded plastic and trim, as stated also my problem with the store bought products is they last three weeks if you don't keep up with reapplying. I am curious to see if Wipe New lasts as long as they say (2years)
