I got a call from Jeep today telling they can’t find me a Black 2015 Jeep Wrangler although I have paid a down payment! Apparently I have to wait 3 months if I want a black wrangler! It has be sent from the factory and the next shipment is in February. Should I consider any other colors or should I wait for the black trim? Or even cancel my contract!? I'm so pissed. On the day I was signing everything they told me the maximum I would have to wait is 2 weeks. But that wasn't written anywhere, they just promised me 2 weeks verbally. I'm so pissed...
By the way I live in Canada..
Only get the colour you want...there are other dealers and this "Stealer" can't get what you want. Go on line and look to see what other dealers in your area have. Youre about to spend a ton of cash and will own it for a while. Black isnt a really difficult colour to find
Mine is a basic sport with AC and auto transmission. There is another dealer that has what looks like the very same car I want. and I called my own dealership telling them another dealer has the exact car and they said they already checked all the dealers and the one I found has different rims and the interior is a bit different. Now the dealership wants me to go there on Monday and look at a commando color wrangler they have. It seems like they want to give me what they already have in the dealership. I have paid a downpayment. I'm not sure If i can cancel it or not. I also got a 4800$ discount from this dealer. Not sure if any other dealers would be able to give me that much of a discount.
Get your deposit back. Go to a different dealer. Black is the most common JK color, every dealer probably has a selection of them..... Something ain't Kosher here!
I talked to him over the phone, he told me "endo" so i assume its the commando color. When i asked him what color it is he told me it has a greenish look?
I'm very tight on budget and if another doesn't give me the the 4800$ discount there is no way I can pay for it.
Sucks waiting but get what you want your paying for it. All my car buying life I always settled for what I don't want. I been wanting a JK for about six years so I pulled the trigger this year. I am so happy now every time drive it I love driving again like when I was eighteen. When I was looking for a JK I liked the Copper Pearl but when I saw the Amp'd color with black trim I had to have it. One thing about black color cars nothing looks better in a Showroom but man they get dirty fast and show every little scratch and ding. I had a Black Chevy Lumina that car was beautiful but that was hard to keep clean.
No one can make this decision for u. In all my experience I've found that patience is truly important. Another thing I've learned is know what you want (confident) and once u know, then u must be willing to be patient and determined. Why are u getting the $4800 discount? While ur waiting check online and other dealers like the others have said. U can get ur $ back. U don't have anything yet. And it does sound like they are trying to pull one over on u. Car dealers want to sell more than u want to buy. Lol. There is no better feeling than getting exactly what u want. Few yrs from now u will find urself saying u wished u waited or got the black one and/ or etc.
keep on jeep'n!!
I'm thinking of contacting the Chrysler head office and explaining the whole situation to them. Not sure if they could be of any help and actually do something about my problem but at least I can complain about the dealership. They gave me a $4700 discount because I actually went there for 2 days straight couple of hours and explained to them how I'm a student and everything and they actually reduced the price by $4700.
That car i bough is a basic Wrangler Sport + Auto transmission + Air Conditioning and a soft top!
I had to leave a $1500 deposit and I'm paying $3500 on the day i receive the car so total of $5000 downpayment and the rest will be financed.
He said Endo! I had him repeat it few times because I have no clue what Endo is! I'm pretty sure he didnt say anvii. But that doesn't matter because Black is the color I want.
3 months of waiting will be so hard! I have a 1 hour commute to my school everyday. So basically I will have to bus trough the worst of winter. And the thing is if i take the bus it will probably take me 2 hours to get to school. I really don't want to end up cancelling the contract. Wrangler is my dream car.
And the funny thing is on the contract it's saying delivery date is November 17th. The exact date i signed the contract!

a). It's not a CAR, it's a Jeep.
B). If you're on a tight budget and have an hour drive to school every day, the wrangler may be a horrible option for you. Wrangler/tight budget typically don't go well together unless your parents are funding you too.
C). I have no idea if you're making this stuff up, or if you're actually telling the truth as you're not really fully answering questions.
Get your deposit back. Go to a different dealer. There should be tons of basic black wranglers on dealers lots. I don't care what these idiots are telling you. It's really that simple. Go find something you love or order it from the factory.
Bait and switch, it's illegal in the US so I'm pretty sure it is in Canada too. My inclination is they want to get rid of something in their current stock, they can check every other dealer and have it shipped to your local dealer.
Just go look at it. Might be a good way to get a bigger discount since it's not the exact color you want and at your age, I doubt it'll be the last car you buy.
Do you guys think if i contact the Chrysler's head office in Canada, they can do something about all of this?
If not I will go to the other dealership before cancelling my contract and see if they are willing to give me the same discount. Worst case scenario I will have to wait until February. I just hate how they are trying to force me into getting a color i don't want. In the contract it says black so it's their responsibility to get me the color I want. If i have to wait and there is no way around it i guess It's worth the wait and trouble.
What are you trying to accomplish by calling Chrysler?
If they don't have a black Jeep and other dealers are not willing to trade, they're stuck with what they have. They're giving you a hell of a deal already and complaining to corporate will gain you nothing.
Take a deep breath and go look at what they do have. I personally do not like black vehicles except when they are brand new due to how they age with chips and such.
+2
Sorry to be harsh (I have yet to have my coffee), but get off the computer/forum, get your butt over to the other dealer and negotiate like you did the first time INCLUDING what happened with this dealer and see if you can get the same type of deal.
Then return to said dealer, tell them you put down a deposit for a specific vehicle delivered within a certain time frame, and if they will not honor that "contract," you want your money back NOW.
But for the love of Pete, stop wondering here and just do it!
Then come back and show us a photo of your new black JK.
I doubt the dealership is giving you a $4,700 discount out of the kindness of their heart to help a struggling student. I would be willing to bet that you are getting a raw deal on the financing side of the purchase. Probably a high interest rate and long contractual maturity. What are the loan terms?
The dealer is full of cr@p they don't have the black one so they're palming you off with what they have on their lot. You're not looking for anything out of the ordinary eg "granite with dual top with manual tranny and no connectivity package". Another dealer will do the same deal or better. Especially at the end of the month.
This all sounds like a conversation with my kids. They say a lot but listen very little.
Here is a new suggestion, search the forum for a Jeeper in your area and see if they have any suggestions or experience that you can find helpful.
AND, the bank you use can sit down with you and make sure the finance you are getting is not a rip off. They may even make you better deal.
None of it makes sense. The OP is complaining about a bait and switch situation yet perceives they are getting a great deal? Their deposit has been locked up, they are being coerced into accepting something they don't want, and they have waited an unreasonable amount of time for nothing to happen on the promise that they will receive special financing. It's not a great deal, the whole thing is a lie and isn't going well.
To the OP mark my words, any deal which starts off this bad ends just as bad (this is business wisdom I've learned over decades of experience). Get out of this deal, get your money back, find another Dealer and move on.
No dealer will lose money on a deal... Period. If you're getting this discount from what sounds like a bad dealer, you'll get it from a reputable dealer for sure. Nothing you've said sounds like you should be doing business with this dealership...
The finance rate is 3.99% for 84 Months and payments of 312.14$ Canadian monthly.
The reason I'm sitting here asking all these questions is because dealerships are closed on Sunday and i can't help myself but wonder what is the best thing to do now. I'm inexperienced and this is the first time I'm getting a car with my own money and by myself. I'm sitting here wondering what I should be doing. I was too excited to get into that Jeep by end of this week and it's just a big disappointment for me that I might have to wait another 3 months.
I will go to the other dealership tomorrow morning and see if I can get the very same deal with them. If they agree to give me the same contract I will go back to my dealership and cancel the contract.
Thank you guys for helping me out.

Don't take an 84 month car loan. Id max that out at 72 or 60 months, plus you'll get a better rate. If you can't afford a jeep without a 7 year loan, I'll give you another piece of advice, don't buy it.
I'd drive whatever you have now a few more years. Delayed gratification may not be sexy, but it typically keeps you out of trouble in the long run. There's more red flags in this thread than my local putt-putt course.
Obviously you need an adult to go down there with you and figure this mess out, get your money back like someone else said earlier, the other dealers will probably make you the same deal.
Amiii, as you can see there are more opinions about what you want to do than you bargained for. In the end you are the only one who will be paying for what you want. And ultimately we all have made questionable decisions that in hind sight could have been done differently.
If.you like this dealer and their deal work with them
Demand your deposit back as they can't deliver agreed product & be glad they can't.
They are doing some very creative math there and over charging you.
Go to the Jeep Canada Build & Price page and check out the price you should be offered and payments on financing.(Ontario pricing) Jeep | Build and Price
You were told 314.14 monthly which works out to 144.03 bi-weekly.
With your $5000 down it should be $141 bi-weekly according to Chrysler's website after you factor in sales tax.

They are doing some very creative math there and seriously over charging you.

They didn't apply your $5,000 down payment to your amount financed.
On Jeep's website you cant see the taxes and all the other fees that's why the monthly payments are different. Here in Canada we get these taxes on the car.
Freight $1695
Registration Free $699
Administration Fee $399
HST (Tax) $3188
Edit: I just realized you are also from Canada. On Jeep.ca they don't add the HST and other fees. They only include the AC Tax and delivery expense towards the payment. In reality they should add all of the above. That's why the monthly payment is lower on Jeep's website. In reality they are not over charging me since I would have to pay the HST and all the other fees regardless of where I buy my car from.
