Worth it?

Wondering if I should go with 1% below invoice or wait for the 13's. He is saying the EP price of $29,750 is the best he can do. That seems a bit steep for a Sport S with these options. Am I wrong? Thanks!

Hmm, seems right to me. Mine was $1000 cheaper MSRP due to manual vs. automatic but same options. 1% under invoice was about the same as you're getting quoted for having the automatic, but then I had an extra 1000 off from a flat discount from something else on top of it. So with you having an automatic, that seems like you're getting much more than 1%. You're getting more like 4% under invoice.

I Purchased 2012 Sport Unlimited with Connivence package, Tow group, side steps, XM,
sticker was 32,090 so after my research I offered them 11% off sticker 28,570+ttl=30,000 out the door

Looks about right to me. If it isn't exactly what you want I would say order a 2013, but if you need to have it ASAP then the deal seems fine.

1% under seems like a fair price too me. Some people are haggling their way down to 2-3% below but thats too much work for me.

Tread Lightly discount = 1%, as well.

And if you have any military affiliation and belong to USAA, use their car-buying service.

I just bought a 2012 Unlimited Sport S that stickered for $32,610. It is an auto, hard top with connectivity group, max tow, trac-lok, side steps, infinity speakers, and sirius. After a lot of negotiation I settled on 28,987 before taxes. I felt this was a more than fair deal so I went for it.

As a Chrysler employee I can tell you that the EP price is usually 4-5% below invoice. That beats the Tread Lightly discount, and the Friends and Family, both of which are 1% below invoice. If there are any sales incentives such as rebates, or special financing, those are applied to the EP for even better savings. I don't see how you will be able to do any better.

Thanks, everyone!

I am a USAA member (life insurance anyhow), so I will check one last time what I would pay through them. I don't recall it being any better.

At the end of last year & beginning of this one they were giving a flat $1000 discount on top of the 1% below invoice on certain Jeep/Chrysler vehicles including Wrangler (that was the extra discount I had). It has changed since then and is no longer offered on Wrangler (though you might double check if it didn't come back recently). You can still get 1% through the car buying service just not the $1000.
