Didn't you come here to ask for our help? We explained it and Mike has had more patience with you than any of us. Remember we are the guys who actually own Wranglers and have actually gone through the process that you are just beginning.

It is sarcasm and take it for what it is worth. Tom is a good guy and dead pan humor is his specialty. Take it from me as I have been on the receiving end from time to time. I find it humorous in a sometimes tough as nails discussion. I chuckled and moved on. May be part of my Marine Corps training though....he is mild compared to how my drill instructor treated me.

Ok. Mike...can you tell me - if I want the media group 730N do I need the connectivity Group as well.

Also, it seems then that the $3,000 increase for the Sahara over the Sport S doesn't really give you all that much in terms of upgrades as say what you get with the Arctic for the 4 grand increase over the price of the Sahara...right off the top -no pun intended- the Ardtic includes The Body Color Dual Top Group (a $2605 value considering that's the cost for that upgrade in the Sahara)...would you agree?

Mike...I'm working on putting together some invoices I have viewed on line while searching new inventory at dealerships in my zip. Also, I see Jeep has addressed at least one of the discrepancies I mentioned in my post yesterday...There is no longer any EXTERIOR options to choose from for the Arctic in The Build My Own feature- which if checked the Body Colored Top options and then the Dual Top Option it priced out to $980/$890 respectively. That was why I was questioning the same scenario in the Sahara build being $980/1625. Also, I did have a salesman at Sansone tell me the Hardtop was Sahara Standard further supporting the website but all the Sahara's on the lots with hard tops were invoiced the same way the Sports was. The majority of the invoice conflicts dealt with connectivity and media group pricing...

Once I collect some of those invoices maybe you can tell me how I can attach them for you to see so I can show you I AM NOT CRAZY!!

Hotdog, you are getting really defensive here. Since this is your first time on an online forum I would like to give you a piece of advice to help you not take things the wrong way which I think you are.

How you receive the posts is all in your head and how you read it to yourself. Instead of reading everyone's reply back to you in a sarcastic, argumentative and combative voice, read it back to yourself in a soft, calm voice or as if you were singing a lullaby to an infant. I guarantee that you will have a different reaction to these posts. It is very easy to take things the wrong way when you are reading everything to yourself.

Trust me when I say that these guys are trying to help. There is actually an awesome thread about this. Here is the link:

All Newbies (under 50 posts) PLEASE READ!!!

Truth be told Chrysler has been having software problems lately...when I went into the VOTS (vehicle order tracking system) to check the status on my Rubi it said that the model I ordered was a Call of Duty MW3 edition when in fact it was a 2 door Rubicon. A quick call to Jeep customer service confirmed that my order was correct and the website had a glitch. So case in point don't let the stupid website confuse you or discourage you from buying a product that you will get much enjoyment from. Just don't buy a yota...youll probably regret it later on...

Happy Jeeping,

Following is an invoice of my build. Done and priced as per the "Build My Own" Tool on the Jeep website. I copied and pasted it because it's the only way I knew how to include it in the forum.

I will copy/paste the dealer sticker of the same in the next post.

Ideally, I just want the Unlimited model with the 5-sp. Automatic, the Body Color HT, and the upgraded stereo. (I am still trying to determine what the differences are bt the 430N and the 730N to determine whether I really need to spend $800+/- or if the 430N will fill the bill).

I did the bill with the options listed on the Dealer Invoice, minus the $200 remote start because there was not option for that feature in the BYO tool (?) for the purpose of comparing apples to apples. I hope this gives you a better insight into what I was talking about.

Basically, the website is "for information only." Window stickers and especially build sheets are what you need to be reviewing.
After careful consideration, the base price increases $2605 on the Unlimited Sahara to $33,359 for just the Body Color HT/Dual Top Option alone... Considering the base Price of the Arctic is $34,744, which includes (according to EVERYTHING on the Jeep site including Build My Own) the color Body Dual Top Group...given all the other features that come with the Arctic Pkg. including the Chill Blue Color not offered on the Sahara it seems the Arctic is they way to go and get the most for my money. I spoke to Corporate earlier and they offered me the following information;

Apparently, The Connectivity Group for $385 is a required option if you were not upgrading the Media Group and you wanted to have the Uconnect bluetooth, the remote USB and the Electronic Info Center because those features are not activated on the Media Center 130. The reason I have been seeing some stickers invoices with no connectivity charge with the upgraded media pkgs., and some that list a connectivity price of $60 or $385 with the upgraded media pkgs., when in fact the upgrades CONTAIN the features of the connectivity pkg. is because the dealers have pricing control over the Media Options...And they also have pricing control with the Top Options as well. I had always been under the impression that the window sticker pricing was generated from Jeep only and while I asked if the Window Stickers were applied at the factory or uploaded at the dealership allowing them to make changes I never did get a direct answer and frankly, did not push for one with that regard. However, the rep I spoke with was very clear that the dealers had some discretion in pricing the options I was questioning. This explains why I have seen window invoices with Body Color HT $1715/Dual Top $1625 on a vehicle at one dealership; BCHT $980/DT 1625; Black HT 735/Dual HT 1625; Dual HT $1625 (which is correct), Connectivity Gr. 385/Media 730N $1845; CG $60/MG 730N $1845; CG $0/MG 730n $1845; etc.
This practice allows dealers to collect activation fees that Jeep states is free for 1st yr. from the buyer as well as room to negotiate MSRP's less than they actually are...which makes it look like the Dealer is giving you a discount that they actually aren't....Hand to God that was what I was told from corporate...

It really is a bit confusing, I would set up a spreadsheet with all the options and cost and compare it. This thread may be a better place to go for pricing info.
And don't get too worked up about the responses here, we all think we are funny.

At first, I was actually interested in this thread.
Now....... I just have a headache.

I'm kinda new to the forum myself (few months). But I can tell you this.
There are ALOT of people on here that can really educate/help new Jeep owners.
I have learned sooo much on here, I know more about the new Wranglers than most of the dealers I have talked to. And that's all because of this forum. I actually enjoy the sarcasm/humor that comes with the info. Bottom line, the people on this forum are really educated, and helpful. It all comes down to how you ask the question.....Relax.

And that my friend is why you never consider MSRP when purchasing a new vehicle. I laugh when someone says they purchased a vehicle for X amount under MSRP and they think they got a good deal. You start with invoice, or dealer pricing, and work down from their.

Join www.treadlightly.org amd you can purchase your Wrangler for 1% below invoice with no haggling. You can also drive out to Chicago and buy one from Pat for 2% below.

Sorry to butt in here but I am the internet director for an Iowa dealership (not trying to sell here either) but why are you calling the msrp/window sticker the invoice?

The actual build you are looking at stickers for 37904 with the 430n radio (better choice if you do not need traffic and the like i.e. 730n). The invoice is 35487 and depending on the local dealers you should be able to buy it for 34800 ish. You can also take rebates off that if There are any that you qualify for. That allows the dealer to make a small margin but profit on the deal. Chrysler does take care of the dealerships also on the sale.

Congratulations. I checked the OP's profile and "she" does in fact list that she is a female. You have finally posted information that was correct!

Thank you for the info. Funny that you came back with that $38,400 figure. That is the exact number I have submitted via eBid, Edmunds, etc..for competitive internet bids on the Arctic.

Too bad you aren't closer (how far are you from central NJ anyway?) because I'd do business with you in a heartbeat just for being so upfront. As you may have been able to perceive if you read some of my prior posts, confusing/misleading information does not sit well with me. I prefer transparency...I don't like to feel like I have been taken advantage of. I understand the dealer needs to make his cut, but it shouldn't come thru deceptive pricing/business practices or taking advantage of one's patrons.

I'm reviewing the offers as they come in. Hopefully this will score me the Jeep I want while sparing me the headache of haggling with high pressure salesmen.

You have a Great Weekend Albert!

HaaHaaahaa Sorry my post caused a brain drain to so many of you. I know it was long and confusing for most. Believe me, if it weren't confusing I would not have reason to post here to begin with. Unfortunately, the underlying message and focus (options and invoicing/pricing relative to specific model & standard equipment) was somewhat muddied along the line in the in quest of clarification or answers.

Daggo66...You don't know me, but know this...NEVER underestimate me...

And Shawn...you are correct...I AM FEMALE!!

Albert Thanks again, it looks like my post may have paid off with some revelations and insight about MSRP's, invoicing and dealer profit margins.

So now you all take two asprin and don't call me in the morning!!

In search of Yeti...Lia

Obviously, in the case of the trans., you can't have two...however, since it is possible to have two tops, i didn't realize adding a HT automatically replaced the soft top...I UNDERSTAND THAT IS THE CASE NOW...that isn't/wasn't the FOCUS of my concern
I beg to differ Sir.. I dont know a godamnded thing... But i did order the Dual top.. I think the soft top is way too much of a pain in the ass.. i would sell it to you ... it's never even been rained on.. I had it up for like 3 hours and put the hard top back on... btw.. its a soft top for the 2 door He-man jeep.

Great post!

Question tho, how come my invoice does not show a sunrider soft top delete price discount? I thought this was the fact that the arctic came with 2 tops, with the delete of the soft top it would be a refund?

Or Did I miss something
