Hi Guys,

Been reading the forums for a while but figured I'd join the fun since I'm about to purchase my first Wrangler after 20 years of driving Grand Cherokees.
I've driven a TON of Wranglers over the years since all my buddies who have them have finally won me over and I need one in my life :)

A local seller is looking to move his 2014 Unlimited Sahara fully loaded, leather seats, navigation. It has 14K miles (he barely drove it) and it's never been off-road. It was a fun project he had upgrading it with his son, but he barely uses it now so it's time to go.

It has all Posion Spyder - front bumper, rear bumper and tire carrier, Brawler Rockers, 35" Fuel tires and Fuel rims, added backup camera, Recon LED headlights, tail lights, Warn Zeon 8s winch, and a few others.

I'll get pics soon but I wanted to know what you think and opinions.
Thanks!

So, what is your question?

The Jeep looks in great shape. But of all the things he put onto it, the only thing I'd pay him extra for is the Zeon winch. Although even that is on the small side; most JKs use winches rated 9,000 lbs or higher. The rule is to use a winch rated at least double the weight of the vehicle --unmolested JKU weight starts at 4,400 lbs. That and the 20" wheels and tires make me think that he went for "looks" over "function".

Find out what kind of lift it has. You may need to replace it if he cheapened on that too.

Oh, and make sure it is in fact a Sahara. He removed all exterior identifiers --e.g., painted fenders, decals, 18" wheels, side steps, etc. Check the VIN, and it should read SAHARA across the front seats.

Tip: what determines JK value and allows them to hold it so well is the stuff that came from the factory, not the aftermarket bling.

Good luck.

It's a Rough Country 4" lift. It is definitely a Sahara as verified by the VIN, window sticker, and Sahara on the seats.

I should have added the seller is an acquaintenace of my family.

My main question..... is 40K a fair price?
He was originally much higher, came down to 42,500 and then we agreed on 40k

I've done my due diligence and a new Sahara plus the same upgrades (which I want) and I would be pushing $60k if not more.
I also spoke to the custom shop on Long Island that did the upgrades and they verified everything.

He absolutely did everything for looks which he openely admits.
It was a fun project to pick everything out with his 10year old son HOWEVER, he did know that he wanted to do quality as evidence by Posion Spyder compared to cheaper overseas parts.
It just got to a point where he realized he was putting in so much money and he only uses it to drive to and from work- a total of 3 miles.
98% of the family driving is done with his wifes car.

He's never taken it off-road.
