Would you be mad?

Bought my daughter a 2012 2 door a couple of months ago. I have been driving it some and was thinking about trading out of my truck for a 4 door. I have been lurking around the site to learn things and get ideas for both her Jeep and my possible one.

Yesterday my neighbor shows up in a 2013 4 door. Lifted, nice wheels, front bumper, etc. I went over to talk with him and he said they liked ours so much they traded their Yukon.

Looks like you are going to have to up the ante. Damage your pride or pocketbook.

Seriously? Are you wanting a Jeep because you like what it offers or because you want to be the cool kid on the block? Some people buy things because everyone else does, some people buy things because no one else has it, I buy something if it is what I want. Weird.

A story in pictures -

I bought a Jeep -

The neighbors across the street bought an '07 Rubicon

18 months later -

They sold the Rubicon.

Make you happy, not the neighbors.

Average minds discuss events,
Small minds discuss people"

Hold up what are you even supposed to be mad over I don't get it , your neighbors brought a jeep so what

Are you supposed to be mad that they brought something you wanted or mad because they bought it before you

Well I guess I can see what you mean if you was 5 or are you 5

Oh I am so mad someone brought something I wanted , the sad part you probably never talk to them until they brought the jeep

amen. I would be happy if the whole neighborhood had jeeps and harleys because then I know we would all have something in common. I bought a 13 jku over a year ago and now 3 of my work mates have jeep wranglers. Gives us a lot to talk about at work and now on our days off we plan rides together which we did not before.

Mad about what ? They have good taste in vehicles ? As was mentioned already, it gives you something in common and a possible "wheelin' buddy".

Kind of reminds me about my neighbor - In March I bought my Billet Silver '13 Unlimited Rubicon soft top. Around August-September I see my Jeep's close twin in her driveway - a Billet Silver '14 Unlimited Sport premium soft top with the Rubicon wheel/tire package.
It doesn't really bother me that much, I was more than happy to show my neighbor how to use the top, set up Bluetooth, remove the doors, and how to engage 4wd and the when/how to use each mode. I guess she liked seeing a Jeep in my driveway so she had to get one to match. My wife thinks it's a little weird as the is the same neighbor that remodeled her kitchen to look just like ours a few months after my wife uploaded a bunch of before and after kitchen photos.

They traded a Yukon for a JKU?

I give it a year, the JKU will be gone and another pavement princess will be in the driveway.

In 2010, I bought a JK. It stayed stock on the 16s and 225s for quite a while. Shortly after I bought mine, a coworker bought a JKU and immediately lifted, put some tires on.

My reaction? SWEET!!! ANOTHER WHEELING BUDDY!!!!!

Just think how much it would suck if we had to call our neighbors before we made any purchases or changes to our homes to see if it would make them mad? "hey bill I am thinking of buying a lawn mower what brand do you have so I can get something different cause I don't want to piss you off or make you think I am copying you" I wanted a jeep for years and it would not have mattered if my nieghbor had one or not when I made the decision to get one.

Like I said... I would not be mad....I would chuckle at them.

Unless they (the neighbors) are experienced Jeepers, or have been lurking Jeep sites for months, I think they are absolute fools for going out and buying a lifted Wrangler. That is how you ended up with a crappy, over priced lift and 35" flashy wheels on 3.21's.

You are doing it right.....lurk and learn.

Why be mad or competitive or negative at all? Be flattered - they looked over at you guys and said, "That looks cool! I wanna be like them!"

or they might have just wanted a nice jeep and just happen to live next someone who already had a jeep.

In my town/state wranglers are a dime a dozen.

I'd be happy. Seriously. Built in second vehicle for off-road outings and help with Jeep mods, upgrades, etc. Having a good neighbor with a Jeep is a win all around.

Not mad about the jeep probably more irritated that they have copied us on several things over the years. They are good people so as many of you have said......get over it or feel flattered.

Yes I do know my neighbors well and talk with them all the time.

I agree that it probably won't last a year. Not saying women don't like jeeps but it is for the wife and she was originally looking at a Grand Cherokee.

Hmmmm. I have a neighbor who lives about 2 blocks away who owns a dark blue Chevy Avalanche. About 4 yrs ago, I bought a dark blue Chevy Avalanche. Last year he moved away. It never dawned on me that he might be pissed off that I bought a similar rig as he owned.

Wow really ? It really wouldn't even occur to me to be honest I could care less what other people buy... They copy you? I'm thinking you may be a little full of yourselves IMO.
