Hey, I have a question -- I have an 2008 JK 4door with around 70,000 miles and I have notice when backing up a small incline in 2 wheel drive I get a small amount of vibration. Its almost as though its having to struggle up a very small incline

Motor mounts look good ????? Anything else I can check ???

Thanks, WP

First, is it a manual or automatic transmission? Second, is this a new development, or has it done it for so long as you've had the Jeep?

My manual transmission vibrates backing out uphill if I don't give it enough gas, and it'll stall if the hill is big enough. It's the equivalent of trying to start going forward uphill without using the gas pedal. It's just a clutch/gas thing. Perfectly normal.

Of coures, if you've got an auto or this has only just recently started then it could be something else.

Well that doesn't sound good then. Did you buy it new? Lifetime powertrain warranty would be handy about now . . .

Now the Rubis have different brake valving, but you have HILL DECENT ASSIST(?) and I'm pretty sure that screws with the brakes, in reverse also--

Now what this PROBABLY does is mess with the computer TORQUE CONVERTER control and you'll get a little "TORQUE CONVERTER SHUDDER" (TCS), so

Try backing up your incline and don't even think about the brake !

If that doesn't work--Dealer time !

SUPTOYOU, checkitout-

The OP has a 2008. That's a feature that started with the 2011's.

Probably so. but they started the Hill Start Assist (brakes)in '09, on any hill degree 3° or more !!

The '08 Rubis have a different valving, but thats mainly in 4lo !!

It's a jungle out there !
