So recently I bought a 2016 Wrangler Backcountry.
Going to be getting ready to build her, and I really don't like the stock graphics, actually I hate them.
Im super nervous this Jeep is my baby. Will a simple hair dryer heat up these graphics enough to remove them with my finger nails?
Those decals have been on there for about a year already, so yeah....it'll take some effort. I don't know where you live, but I'd wait until the warmer sunny days are here. The sun beating down on them should make them just peel up. The worst is when the decals are several years old and brittle. You should have that problem though. Good Luck.
It was a very tedious process when the wife removed part of the graphics on ours. And she used to do that kind of thing for a living. The vinyl peeled off easy enough but it left much of the adhesive behind and that took more work to remove.
We only removed the section of the graphic on the hood. The wife wanted to put a decal on the two sides of the hood with the name of the Jeep (Barney).
I did not have an issue with the graphics for the Back Country, but I can see how some might.
I am not surprised that the decal is that much money, it is a serious quality decal. That is some heavy duty vinyl.
Once the sticker is off, try Turtle Wax Label and Sticker remover. It worked great for me when I removed the Sport and Wrangler stickers.
